I'm mega excited! Okay, I work for a catering company that send myself and other employees on different jobs around and nearby London, well today (Sunday 27th) my job was at the Ascot Polo games. All waiters and waitressess (thats me) were assigned a table and as I was checking the names on the place cards I saw 'Miss Emma Watson'.
Now of course me being me thought it was someone else with the same name, until she stepped through the doors! I was so excited but had to act extremely professional. It was hard but I did it. You'll probably see a thread on the main board soon about her being at Ascot but I wanted to get this out first. I'm mega hyped. teehee! |

She is very pretty. I was quite shocked to actually see that it was her but so impressed. And she has a lovely voice. She seemed a tad stuck up; my friend said that he offered her a drink and she didn't answer but made a sound and continued talking to her friends, but then most celebrities are that way so what can ya do.
She seemed to greatly enjoy herself though which is a good thing, I hope she enjoyed our service ^_^ Oh she was wearing a really lovely dress, it wasn't white but more of a pearly colour I think and her hair was up. Edit... here's a link and a picture. I can actually see one of my friends in the background, how cool ^_^ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/celebritynews/2463448/Harry-Potter-star-Emily-Watson-keeps-cool-in-the-heat-at-Cartier-International-Polo-Day.html Updated Jul 28, 2008 at 4:54 PM by Angelina blu Johnson |

Yeah I thought it would be hard if they didn't become a bit stuck up. Rupert and Tom seem like they're not though...

Wow that's great! Just one though though, while it sounds like she reacted a little bit rudely to the drink offer, I would judge her to be stuck up based on one incident. She might not have been paying attention since she was in the middle of a conversation after all...

Ah, that's what I thought, but apparently she did the same thing to a few different people. There have been rumors floating that she is a bit of a snob, I mean as a Drama student, I expect it from a lot of different actors, she became extremely rich almost overnight - In a way, as a child actress (though not as good as I would like her to be) it's kinda expected.
Still, it was amazing to see her. I did love her in the first two films >_> Updated Jul 30, 2008 at 4:06 PM by Angelina blu Johnson |

Ahh, that's sad that she acted a bit snotty, but then most celebrities to. I hear Dan and Rupert aren't also, I just wish I could meet even one of them...! Your so lucky!

Hmmm... too bad. I hope she grows up a bit then. It's still great that you saw her though. I'm sure it was really exciting for you!

Oh, that's awesome that you got to serve her! I am kind of disappointed though if she acts like a snob, if the rumors are true. She seems like such a nice person, but I've never met her so I could be wrong. It's still great you got to see her anyway!

It's great that you got to serve her. But I am compelled to comment on the previous posts that have called her a snob. Do you guys realize how many people bug her. Buy here drinks, autographs, and etc. Yes, we are civilians and that doesn't happen to us all the time everyday and we might remark on it. But that poor girl is probably not left alone. All she wanted to do was have a nice dinner with friends. All of the stars have been boosted into stardom. The media can be mean when protraying these actors. They do it to sell papers. It is such a fine line. That guy could have been anybody. He could have been a stalker. I understand completely why she reacted the way she did.

A Harry Potter Mom
You are absolutely correct and I can totally see WHY she did that. But that does NOT make it right. She is a role model whether she likes it or not, wants to be or doesn't. She knows people are going to be starstruck and she should be use to it by now. I don't think she should be "a snob", nor do I think she should be called one either. Its just a part of life. If that makes annnnnnyyyyyy sense at all. ha |

Iambootsy04...I am happy that you have never met anyone that made your skin crawl. One persons snobbery is anothers protection. That is all I have to say about the subject.

Ahh, A Harry Potter Mom, I do completely understand what you are saying about being pestered as a celebrity, but it was to be expected and going into the movie world as an actress, Miss Watson should have known that this was what she would get. Its no secret that once you become a celebrity your life is constantly on show.
The problem I had was that I was simply offering her a beverage. I wasn't pestering her for her autograph or pressing her to say a line from Harry Potter, I was simply doing my job with a smile on my face. Though I must admit that I have had worse reactions from people who aren't even famous, still I didn't find it very nice. iambootsy04 is quite right. I can see that it must be hard for celebs not to react in this way sometimes but as rolemodels they need to learn that they can't act this way. I've seen Patrick Stewart snub some of his biggest fans. It's just something you don't do. You can't disrespect the people that put you where you are! The only reason Emma is so famous is because there are so many of us out there, including myself that love her. |

I wonder how much of a snob she really is....
As far as I´m concerned, you can always tell a persons character by watching him interact with "lower" people. |

I agree with you there sandra petrovic, as the saying goes "Don`t judge a man by how he treats his equals, judge him by how he treats his inferiors" Now what does that tell us of Ms Watson?
And I also agree with that she knew what she got herself into by beeing an actress, if she cant deal with that she should quit acting and get another job! I honestly dont know why she thinks she has the right to be so stuck up. She hasnt accomplished anything worth admiring if you stop and think about it. There are people out there like doctors and nurses, caring moms and many more who would deserve much more admiration than Emma Watson. Because the bit of acting she does (and imo she doesnt even act well) isnt something much worthwhile! Seriously, what has Watson done that is so great, and gives her the right to think herself higher than others??? That makes me soo mad! Besides that, she depends on her fans, so she should respect them and treat them kindly! Has she ever stopped to think where she would be wihtout them? Wow it must have been amazing to see her! It's a pity she is a bit stuck, but growing up as a celebrity from the age of eleven - what can you do?
PS the caption of the picture says emily watson! how are there people who haven't heard of emma! |

Well, over here in Europe she isn´t well known name at all.
Younger people may know her name, or know her as Hermione, but she´s nowhere near as popular as, say, Britney Spears.(name-wise, that is) |

Exactly, there are MANY people who don`t even know her, but yet she seems to think she is oh sooo great...
And being "famous" since the age of 11 is no excuse for being stuck up! I don`t see Tom Felton (started acting at 9),Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright or many others behaving the way she does! Not even Daniel Radcliff seems as snobby as Emma! Updated Sep 22, 2008 at 6:39 AM by KissingDraco |

I just came here to see what you wrote and restrain you (if needed). HAHA Let's try not to turn this into a "I hate Emma Watson" thread... though we are in desperate need of one!!!! heheheheh See... though I'd love it to be otherwise *is sad* the point of this thread is to tell us that she got to serve Emma and that it's cool, not that Emma is stuck up. It does seem at least somewhat true. I mean from the party or boy pictures I have seen, she just seems like one of those girls that would have been popular but pretty nice yet not nice enough to actually join the other kids at a table.
Anyway, yeah, I hope she's more of a i should be proud stuck up than I am better kind. |

That's awesome to be able to see someone famous when you are least expecting it. But, yeah, she shouldn't have an attitude. So she's got a job. So do most people. She just happens to have a job where everyone knows who she is. Doesn't make her better. Hopefully she's not always like that, though.
Angelina blu Johnson love your avvie. I'm a huge Supernatural *coughsDeancoughs* fan! Haha. Love it! |
