I haven't posted a pic here in the forums for ages. Let's see if I can still do it... Pity I need to resize it, the original is bigger, which means, even more gorgeous ;) I love all the details!

Don't ask me who made it because I haven't got the slightest idea hehe... Update.... It did work in a way but not as I expected. It seems I completely forgot how to make a clickable link to it. Hello all,
Congratulations on the third Snape thread! You guys are amazing. Such devotion! I'm more or less new as a member, but I've been browsing and enjoying the forums for a couple months. My other faves are Alan's forum (naturally) and the Snape Chronicles. Snape was always my favorite character in the HP world, but R@nnaro's fics hooked me completely and turned me into a certifiable Snape-aholic. I'm looking forward to the on-going fun on this forum! |

Oh my! It's way too early to be laughing this hard! Juicybit
your photo had me choking. I thought all the snake images were hysterical until I caught glimpse of the Rubber Ducky. That sealed it for me. I'm toast. I think it interesting that the fan art depicts a Snape image that if not similiar to AR's appearance is at least very, very different from the art in the books. Mary Grandpre's Snape makes me think of Ali Baba and the 40 theives and seems less likely to be a man hiding a noble soul. I wonder if the character had been played by a less capable actor I (we) would be responding as strongly positive and supportive. For my part,my perspective changed with book four when Severus agreed to continue his work for Dumbledore after Voldemort's return. Even with the startling conclusion of book 6,I still held to my belief that there were other factors involved that would exonerate him. Were I to read all these things thinking of the face the artist gave him it might have been more difficult to have cared so deeply. A personal flaw,I guess, but we're lucky enough to be able to imagine AR doing all these snarky things with a semi pure heart underneath. |

So did I. It was tough at first...for a couple of days I was really doubting if it would all pull through, but then I did some thinking and I realized there were still all these mysteries surrounding him. And after all, there was still one book left so anything could happen. :) we're lucky enough to be able to imagine AR doing all these snarky things with a semi pure heart underneath. 'Tis true! We've discussed this before, but I too have NEVER imagined Snape with a goatee/beard. It doesn't fit him at all! I just hate that he is never described as having one and yet GrandPre drew him that way. Especially when I THINK this picture (from Scholastic's Sorcerer's Stone merchandise) was drawn by her. Correct me if I'm wrong. ![]() |

Snape with a beard might well have looked even more menacing... try this...
![]() Nope. He's darkly dashing with a beard but I love Snape just as he is. |

Ooooo, Snape with a beard. Nicely done! Did you do that Always? I think I could adapt to that look. As if the students weren't scared enough of Snape, this would have sent them all running to their mommies!

Yes, I remember that one...Hard to work up any romantic fantasy about that man...nice eyebrows...but even the most homely can become comely when either loved or understood.

Dark Buttons... Ooooo, Snape with a beard. Nicely done! Did you do that Always?
Yes. I was curious as to the overall effect, so took a pic of our clean shaven professor and cut & pasted the bearded face of George, Sheriff of Nottingham on top! Voila. Snape with a beard! It's not perfect but it does capture the look. The result? Pretty menacing for sure. Lots of black to emphasize scowls. And I think he'd intimidate all but the bravest of souls (or the most foolhardy). But well... as much as I dearly love both characters, I really think they're best off in their separate, individual realities! Professor Snape, please keep on shaving. Sheriff George, let the hair grow as wild as you please! |

I was reminded of the sheiff of Nothingham,too...AR stole the movie..."cancel Christmas"..love it..
When I reread the series I "hear" AR's voice in Snape's words and he certainly can evoke menace with a purr and a hiss. hardly needs a beard to create greater drama. |

Haha, I thought that was from a scene I didn't remember in Robin Hood, Always. I like to imagine the scene where he removes his mask as being from Severus' Death Eater days in his youth.
