Hey guys this is my first fic so be nice :)

-----------------------------------------------------

The moon quickly moved onto the blanket of stars above the Forbidden Forest. Thick dark trees made it hard for Anna Baker hard to pass through. A branch sticking out, tripped Anna up, sending her falling onto a moss covered rock. She landed on her wrist. Rolling over, Anna cried out for help, streams of tears rolled down her pale cheeks. Anna’s stomach called out for food, and she curled up into a ball.

“Are you alright?” said a deep soothing voice. Anna sat up quickly, and turned around. A tall centaur was standing in front of the round moon. As Anna stood up, the centaur straightened his back and smiled. Anna wiped off her tears from her cheek and stood there staring at the very tall creature.

“My name is Cormick,” he said, his dark eyes glistened in the shattered moonlight, sneaking in through the branches of the tallest trees. Anna opened her mouth to talk, but her throat was so dry, it hurt to talk. Her stomach made a louder noise and she fell to the ground, clutching her stomach. Cormick leaned down and lifted Anna into his strong arms. Galloping through the rough forest, Cormick held tight to the weak girl that lay in his arms.

He came to the edge of the forest, and saw a small hut surrounded by large pumpkins. He took a deep breath and slowly trotted to the hut. Holding Anna in one arm, he knocked on the door with the other. A light flickered in the hut, candle light. There were footsteps getting louder and louder as they came to the door.

“Why hello Cormick,” said a face covered with hair. Anna’s eyes peaked open at the sound of his voice. The man was a large giant of a man, with frizzy black hair that came round to a thick beard, covering most of his face. His eyes fell on Anna’s weak body, lying still in the centaurs arms.

“Hagrid, I found her in the Forest,” said Cormick, “She collapsed before I could find out her name.” Hagrid sighed, taking Anna in his own arms. Cormick’s eyes lingered on Anna once more, before he turned.

“Take care of her Hagrid,” he said and trotted off through the pumpkins. Hagrid looked back towards the Forest until he saw Cormick’s long dark tail, disappear into the dark tree’s of the forest. With his foot, Hagrid closed the door and turned to Fang, his dog.

“Out the way Fang,” he said, placing Anna carefully on the chair.

“Now,” he said, picking up a big mug of steamy tea. Anna’s eyes lit as he brought the tea to her. “What’s yer name?”

After a short pause, Anna opened her mouth. “I’m Anna,” she said then took a sip of the tea, “Anna Baker.” Fang, a large black Boarhound, dropped his head on Anna’s lap. Hagrid was silent for a second, as Anna sipped her tea. Her bright blue eyes were tired and worn out.

“I’m goin’ teh get Dumbledore,” said Hagrid as he stood by the door, “Wait here.” Then Hagrid disappeared in the dark. Anna moved to the window, and saw Hagrid make his way up towards a large castle. Gawping, Anna didn’t move from the window, and carried on looking at the castle, lights lit up the small windows all over it. Anna rubbed her eyes and sighed. She saw a large purple plum sitting on the table in the small hut. A knife had punctured the skin and the sweet juice was dripping out.

Anna felt the moisture in her mouth evaporate as she slowly stood up. The thick patched blanket fell to the floor as she walked to the table. Grasping her hand around the sweet plum, Anna plunged her teeth into its skin and ripped a piece off. The juice tingled on her tongue as she ate more of it.

“I can see your hungry Anna?” said a voice behind her. Anna felt the cold wind on her back. She turned around to see Hagrid and another man, standing by the door. This must be Dumbledore, she thought, as she stared at the man. His snowy white beard was past his waist and his half moon glasses sat on the end of his nose. He smiled friendly as they moved into the hut. Hagrid made his way about making Dumbledore a drink, as Dumbledore sat down opposite Anna. Anna sat down by Fang again, clutching her arms tight. Dumbledore smiled kindly as he took the mug off Hagrid.

“So Anna,” said Dumbledore, as he sipped his tea, “Where did you come from?” Anna stared at Dumbledore for a second, and then looked out the window and towards the Forbidden Forest.

“Yes I know you were in there,” continued Dumbledore, “But why? Where are your parents? Why aren’t you at home, enjoying Christmas with them?”

Anna shifted her feet, “I ran away… from my home, and then I found myself in that forest. I cant remember much.” Dumbledore sighed, and placed the mug on the table.

“My parents… there not like me,” continued Anna, “They didn’t like what I could do, they shouted at me. I’ve been doing it since I was 11, im 14 now.” Dumbledore smiled, he placed his hand on her knee.

“Don’t worry,” he said, soothingly, “You’re safe with us.” He looked at the large bite marks in the plumb sitting on the floor, and he leant down and picked it up.

“Are you hungry Anna?” he asked nicely. Anna could only smile and nod her head. Dumbledore smiled and lead Anna out of the hut.

There was silence in the Great Hall, as Anna sat with Hagrid on one of the long tables. She filled her plate with everything she could eat in the limited time she had. Hagrid smiled as she shoved a Yorkshire pudding in her mouth. After hosing it down with a glass of pumpkin juice, she was full. When she yawned, Hagrid knew it was time to put her to bed. Dumbledore arrived with a battered looking hat. He placed it on a stool.

“Anna,” he said holding his arm out to her, “Come and sit on this stool and we will sort you into your house. It will be either Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin.” Anna just nodded shyly, as she took her place on the stool.

Dumbledore lowered the hat on her head and quickly the hat screamed, “GRYFFINDOR!” Anna didn’t know if that was good or bad, but she smiled with confidence as she followed a tall woman, with black hair, out of the Great Hall.

It was past midnight when Anna finally got to sleep on her large four poster bed. The covers were soft and warm and she had quickly rapped herself in them, as she fell into a deep sleep.

Maybe the morning came fast because it was midnight when Anna fell asleep, or maybe because the night passed through quickly. When she sat up in her bed, there was another girl in the room. She was tying her brown hair up into a sleek ponytail. As she stood up she turned to Anna. She was quite pale and very skinny, and her large grey eyes glistened in the light. Her hair was mainly straight, but there was a small curly strand dropping in front of her right eye.

“You’re awake,” she said, fixing her scarf and holding out her hand for Anna to shake, “I’m Danni, Danni Springer.” Anna shook Danni’s hand politely, and smiled. Quickly she jumped out of bed and looked at a pile of clothes lying on a trunk at the end of the bed.

“Try them on,” said Danni, as she slipped her feet into her boots. “McGonagall left them there this morning.” Anna looked through them and picked up a light blue t-shirt and jeans. As quickly as possible she pulled them on, she just fitted them! There was a grey hooded jumper and she pulled that on, only to take it off again because it passed her knees. Danni laughed as she handed Anna a yellow and red scarf. The Gryffindor scarf.

“Oh,” said Danni, as the stood by the portrait hole, “You do have a wand don’t you?” Anna nodded and pulled out a thin wand. Its surface was detailed in markings. Danni stared at the wand in admiration, and then smiled.

“Do you want breakfast?” she asked, “I’ve already had mine.”

Anna shook her head. “I had so much last night I couldn’t eat for another couple of days.” They both laughed together as they walked out side into the snow. There was a few owls swooping around gracefully. As they shuffled through the thick snow, they passed a group of four boys. One had short messy black hair and round glasses, one had sandy blonde hair and tired eyes, the other had black hair that was hanging around his neck, and the last boy was a short plump boy.

They all seemed to be looking at Anna as she passed, the boy with glasses even smiled at her.

“Who are they?” asked Anna as they carried on walking, they sat down in the courtyard, and watched the sun linger above the ice covered lake.

“The tall one with glasses is James Potter, sort of the leader of there little group,” began Danni, smiling to herself, “The shorter one with blondish hair is Remus Lupin, odd boy to be honest. The one with long black hair, Sirius Black-” Danni giggled and blushed, “-and the short one, is Peter Pettigrew. All in Gryffindor as you guessed.”

Anna smiled, the way Danni blushed when she said Sirius’s name, made Anna know at once she liked him. A tall boy with short black hair came over to them, with his hands in the pocket of his brown coat. His Gryffindor scarf was wrapped tightly around his neck. He smiled at Danni as he sat down.

“Who’s this then?” he asked, nodding towards Anna. Danni smiled, putting a hand on Anna’s shoulder.

“This, this is Anna Baker,” she said smiling, “She started today under personal circumstances.” Danni winked at Anna, covering for Anna’s mysterious appearance at the school during Christmas.

The boy nodded and held out his hand. “Im Christian,” he said as they shook hands, “Call me Chris though.” Anna smiled and put her hands back in her pockets, as did Christian. It was cold, even for winter. Hagrid passed them, his hairy face covered with snow flakes made it hard to see that he smiled at Anna. Anna jumped to her feet and ran to him, leaving Chris and Danni sitting quite shocked.

“Hagrid!” she said, catching up with the giant of a man. When he saw Anna he stopped.

“Hello Anna,” he said cheerfully, “See you’ve made some friends then.” He nodded over towards Danni and Chris.

“Yeah,” said Anna smiling, “Danni’s really nice and I’ve just met Chris. I was wondering if you had seen Cormick at all?”

“I’m afraid not Anna,” Hagrid stiffened and looked at the Forrest, “But when I do I’ll let him know your alright.”

“Thanks Hagrid,” said Anna, and she jogged back over to Danni and Chris, “Oh, merry Christmas Hagrid!” Hagrid smiled and waved as Anna sat back down with her friends. She watched him walk down out of the courtyard. Anna looked down at her watch. It was an old battered watch that was hard to read. She could see the faded numbers slightly under the broken glass. It was already midday.

“Are you guys hungry?” asked Chris, “I’m starving!” Anna shook her head but Danni nodded and jumped to her feet.

“C’mon Anna,” she said, pulling on Anna’s arm, “You don’t have to have anything.” Anna smiled and stood up, and they walked into the castle.

Once again Anna found herself in front of a plate of food just waiting to be eaten. The steam rose off the chicken breast as Danni poured gravy onto her creamy mash and vegetables. Anna could only stare at the mouth watering food as Danni and Chris ate.

“With everyone coming back tomorrow, you should eat as much as you can,” advised Chris, “Everyone always hogs the food.” Anna smiled and filled her own plate with the steamy warm food.

The day passed quickly for Anna, she had a wonderful dinner, friends to talk to. Soon she found herself in her soft bed talking to Danni.

“…and then everyone comes tomorrow,” said Danni, “Start of spring term, and you can meet some of my other friends. Like Marc and Greg.”

“Do you have any friends who are girls?” Anna joked. Danni smiled and then nodded.

“Yeah,” she said, and jumped into bed, “You.” Anna stared as Danni turned the other way and began to snore lightly. Softly, Anna dropped her head on her pillow, smiling to herself. It sounded nice when Danni said she was her friend. There was a soft hooting noise in the distance as Anna closed her eyes and began to dream.

The early sun peaked through the thick curtains surrounding Anna’s four poster bed. Rubbing her eyes after a wonderful sleep, Anna sat up straight. On the end of her bed was a set of Gryffindor robes. Smiling, Anna quickly jumped out of bed to try them on. It felt nice to be in a uniform.

“Well good morning Anna,” said Danni coming out from behind her curtains, smiling. Danni’s chocolate brown hair was still very straight despite the fact that she had just woken up. You could tell how skinny Danni was, as she stepped off her bed wearing a vest top and shorts. She stood in front of the mirror, brushing away at her silky mane.

“You get to meet everyone today,” she said as she quickly got into her school robes. There was a tap on the door of the dormitory. Danni jumped over one of the empty beds and ran to the door. When she opened it, she was confronted with three girls screaming, running to hug her.

“Hey guys!” shouted Danni, hugging a black haired girl as the others dropped their trunks at the end of their beds. A red headed girl looked at Anna who was sitting on the end of her own bed, reading.

“Who’s this Danni?” she asked, as she pulled her scarf off. Anna looked up from her book and smiled.

“I’m Anna,” she said, “Anna Baker.”

“My names Alice Prewett,” said the black haired girl who was still standing by Danni, Anna smiled as Danni walked to Anna.

“Anna’s an old friend of mine, she moved her from a private school in London,” Danni lied to the red head.

“Oh,” she said, as she un buttoned her coat, “I’m Alex.” Danni pulled on Anna’s arm.

“Well we’re going to see the others,” she said, as they stood by the door, “See you guys later.”

“Wait,” said Alice, as she put her scarf on again, “I’ll come too.” Danni nodded and they walked down to the common room. Danni ran up to a boy with short honey blonde hair, he turned around and smiled. His perfectly white teeth were straight and shined. Danni called Anna over and smiled.

“Marc this is Anna,” she said, holding onto Anna’s arm. Anna smiled and shook hands with him. His deep blue eyes stared into hers.

“Marc Sinclair,” he said smiling, there was a hit of American accent in his voice. Alice, who was talking to two other boys, shouted them over. There was a boy with mousey brown hair and a boy with black hair. They smiled as Anna and Danni walked over.

“Anna this is Greg and Frank,” said Alice, pointing at them. Anna smiled as Greg nodded at her and walked over to Marc.

“So where are you from?” asked Frank, “I don’t think I’ve seen you here before.”

“I err, well I’m Muggleborn,” Anna began, remembering the term used by Dumbledore, “And they wouldn’t let me come until now.”

“You’ll like it here,” said Alice, smiling, “You’ll learn everything you could about magic!” Anna smiled, and turned round to Danni, who was chatting away to Marc. Danni gave her a thumbs up and continued talking to Marc.

**

Anna jogged quickly into the hospital wing where Marc was with Danni. Danni had fell of her broom while practicing for the Quidditch match. Danni had been unconscious for three hours now, and Marc had been her for a while. Anna sat down next to Marc and sighed, she hated seeing her first friend ever in a hospital bed. Tears filled up in Anna’s eyes as she dropped her head into her eyes. Marc put his arms around her.

“She’ll be alright Anna,” he said quietly, “Don’t worry.” I suppressed a sob and smiled at Marc. As Marc stood up he held out a hand.

“C’mon,” he said, “Madame Pomfrey will blow our heads off if we stay here any longer.” Anna laughed and took his hand and stood up. They paused and then both laughed at the hesitation, and walked out of the hospital. They made their way out in the cold. There was still traces off silvery snow on the grass outside the doors. Anna sat with Marc silently and looked over at the Forbidden Forest. Anna sat upright and stared anxiously at the dark trees. The full moon lingering over the Forest. There was a loud howl coming from the tree’s and they both stood up.

“What was that?” asked Marc, looking at Anna who was staring intensely at the Forest. Silence. Then Anna quickly ran down towards Hagrid’s hut. Marc followed confused, wondering what she was doing.

“Anna!” he cried, “Anna come back!” Anna shook her head and continued walking hastily. There was another howl and Anna stopped, waiting for Marc to catch up with her. They both pulled out their wands.

“Lumos,” they whispered, and a little light appeared at the ends of their wands. The howl was louder and they walked further into the thick darkness. They carried on walking until they stopped. There was prints in the soft earth. A dog maybe? They carried on walking when they heard another howl. This time not that far from them.

“Anna, we shouldn’t be here,” whispered Marc, “Dumbledore will kill us. Its past midnight!” Anna didn’t turn back, she just carried on walking. She stopped. There were the sounds of hooves pounding against the ground. They grew louder and louder. Suddenly something barged into Anna, knocking her to the floor. A deer. Marc rushed to Anna’s body on the floor, as something scuttled over her. A rat.

Marc shone his wand where the deer and rat were, but there was nothing. He looked back at Anna on the floor and saw blood dripping down her head. There was blood stained in her silky blonde hair. Then a dog rushed around them. As soon as Marc could move his wand, it was gone. Then a large wolf thing jumped over Marc’s head. Marc dropped his wand and stared at it.

“W-werewolf,” he whispered in shock. The wolf turned around and looked at him. Marc quickly picked up his wand and threw Anna onto his back. Running away from the wolf. The wolf followed them until they were far out of the forest and back by Hagrid’s hut. Marc lay Anna on the floor and tried to wake her up. He sighed, and picked her up again, and took her up to the castle. Tiptoeing in he took her to the common room and called down Alice to take her up.

Anna woke up lying in her bed in the dormitory. Alice was asleep snoring as well as the others. Alex was half lying off her bed, and Danni’s bed was empty. Anna’s hand rushed to the back of her head as everything rushed back to her. The forest. The deer. The rat. The dog. The wolf… Marc! Anna jumped out of bed and ran down to the common room. There wasn’t anybody there.

She looked at her watch. 2:00 am. Anna sat down quickly as she began to get dizzy. Closing her eyes she dosed off in a dreamless sleep.

“Anna!” shouted someone while shaking her awake. Anna jumped up off the armchair and saw Marc standing by her. His eyes were tired and he didn’t look like he had slept a wink. His blonde hair was all messed up and he pushed his fringe out of his eyes and sat down on the floor. He dropped his head into his hands and sighed.

“What’s up?” Said Anna, sitting on the floor next to him. “You look terrible, no offence.”

“You were out cold for ages,” said Marc, “You could have been dead! And it was my fault.” Anna put an arm around him and soothed him.

“I’m fine now aren’t I,” she said, and Marc nodded, “So there’s nothing to worry about.”

**

Anna followed Alice into the Charms lesson. Professor Flitwick was standing at the front holding his wand. Anna stared over the class for a seat and then seated herself next to a girl reading a book. She pushed her shoulder length mousey brown hair behind her ear as Anna sat beside her. She looked up from her book as Anna pulled her wand from her robes.

“I’m Siân Wilson,” she whispered, fixing her orange glasses. Anna smiled, and whispered back; “I’m Anna.”

“Stop chatting now you two girls,” said Flitwick as he started the lesson. Remus Lupin was sitting in front of Anna, and he turned around a couple of times, just watching them chatter on. Eventually he plucked up the courage to say something.

“You’re the new girl aren’t you?” he said, smiling. He ran his hand through his sandy colour hair. Anna nodded.

“Welcome to Hogwarts.” Anna smiled and then turned back to Siân, continuing to whisper to each other. She was in Ravenclaw, and was a Muggleborn like Anna! Anna felt they were going to get on very well.

Soon, the lesson came to an end. A great morning for Anna’s first day in lessons. Her and Siân were walking out talking, when Remus caught up with them.

“Anna,” he said running up behind them, “I want to show you something.” Anna exchanged a look from Siân and then shrugged, following Remus back down the corridor. Siân carried on walking towards the courtyard and passed James Potter and Sirius Black. She couldn’t help but overhear their conversation.

“…Are you sure he said he’ll meet us here?” asked James, shaking his head with disbelief.

“Yes, he said after he had Charms with Ravenclaw,” replied Sirius, “Unless he’s got held back… Maybe he’s already there?”

“The lousy git!” exclaimed James, as he ran down the corridor followed by Sirius.

Remus watched Anna stroke the baby unicorn with admiration. Her bright blue eyes were full of glee and he sighed. He felt his face redden when she smiled at him and he came and sat next to her. Anna was stroking the unicorns silky main.

“There you are you stupid git!” came a voice behind them. Anna turned round quickly and seen James Potter and Sirius Black coming from between the trees. They were staring at Remus and didn’t notice Anna until the unicorn ran away scared. James looked at her and then back at Remus. There was a long silence as Remus stood up quietly.

“What the-” began Sirius, and James flung a punch at Remus. Sirius managed to stop him from swinging his fist twice.

“You left us waiting for ages while you were flirting with this girl?!” he shouted, struggling from Sirius grasp. Remus stuttered for words as he held his nose as blood pored from his nostrils. Anna gasped and rushed to Remus’s aid and glared at James. He stopped struggling and stared at Anna speechlessly. Anna held onto Remus and James turned away quickly, walking back up towards the castle.

**

“Sorry,” said Remus, as Anna sat him down in the hospital. She wiped his nose carefully, as the blood dripped on Anna’s skirt.

“What for?” said Anna, “I’m not the one with the bleeding nose.” Remus gave a little laugh. Madame Pomfrey came gliding through the doors and rolled her eyes when she saw Remus sitting on one of the beds.

“You’re in here more than anybody else Mr Lupin,” she said as she came over to them. With a swipe of her wand, the blood on Remus’s face disappeared and his nose was back in its original shape. Before Remus could thank her, she was gone again.

“What did she mean?” said Anna, as they walked out of the hospital to their next lesson.

“Nothing,” replied Remus, avoiding Anna’s look. “It doesn’t matter.”

“She meant something,” Anna scowled. She wanted to know.

“It’s nothing honest!” cried Remus, when he looked at Anna. She stared at him with puppy eyes and Remus turned away quickly, as not to fall for them. Anna followed him into their next lesson.

Transfiguration. Anna sat down next to James Potter and couldn’t even look at him. He nudged her a couple of times to ask the time, but nothing else.

He soon broke the silence. “Hey I’m sorry you had to see our little fight, I don’t hate Remus, we always do that.”

“Oh that’s reassuring!” retorted Anna, not looking at him. When she did, she wished she hadn’t. His black hair was messy and wouldn’t stay in place. Anna felt her heart suddenly pound faster against her chest. She even thought it was going to burst out.

“I’m serious,” said James quickly, “I am really sorry, you probably think I’m some bully!” Anna looked back at her parchment and smiled to herself, pushing the image of James out her head.

“Anyway, do you want to sit with us at lunch,

“Anyway, do you want to sit with us at lunch,” he said. Anna choked on her words. He was being nice! Of all the rumours of him being arrogant she didn’t think they could be true!

When they were leaving the classroom, Anna, accompanied by James, Remus and Sirius, went for their lunch. They sat down together in the Great Hall, and Anna sat by Remus opposite James. He kept smiling at Anna all the way through their meal and kind of put her off her food.

Anna looked up from the table and saw Siân walking around, looking for somewhere to sit. Anna waved at her and Siân quickly ran over. She smiled at the guys and sat by Anna.

“Hey,” she said, pushing her book in to her bag as she sat down. James quickly turned to Sirius and engaged himself in deep conversation about Quidditch. Anna felt a little sad but began talking to Remus.

“How’s your nose?” she asked, avoiding James’ look. She pushed Remus’ hair and examined his nose carefully. He shrugged and turned back to his food.

'Madame Pomfrey came gliding through the doors and rolled her eyes when she saw Remus sitting on one of the beds.

“You’re in here more than anybody else Mr Lupin,” she said as she came over to them.'

Hey guys, a special surprise for you all !!
Hope you like it :D

Anna was awoken by February’s bright morning sun rising into the cloudless sky. She sat up in her bed to be surrounded by smiling faces. Danni, Alice, Siân, Remus Lupin, James Potter and Sirius Black were sitting on her bed.

“Happy birthday Anna!” they all chorused, holding out their presents wrapped in shiny and multicoloured paper. Anna gasped and took Danni’s present first. As she unwrapped it, a silver photo frame fell into her lap. Anna picked up the frame and smiled at the picture. It was Anna, Danni, Alice and Siân in the snow. They were having a snowball fight and Anna face was covered in white snow.

“I cant open them all now,” said Anna, looking at the vast range of different sized boxes. She looked at the others who were all in their clothes.

“Right guys,” said Alice to the three boys, “Out you go!” Danni helped Alice shoo the guys out as Anna picked up a few letters the others had brought up for her. She opened a large one and read the letter.

Dear Anna,
Hope your having a good time in the wizards school. Hope you haven’t forgotten me! I definitely didn’t forget you or your birthday, hope you like your present. I knew you would want it.
Lots of love,
Rachel xxxxx
A tear dripped down Anna’s cheek as she unwrapped the parcel. It was black hair dye. Hesitating, she took the dye from the packet and rushed to the bathroom.

“Anna?” said an unexpected voice from the bathroom door. “What’s taking you so long?” After a while, Anna returned from the bathroom with ebony hair flowing around her waist. Siân’s surprised face shocked Anna, and she jumped.

“Muggle hair dye?” she said, Anna nodded. “It looks nice!” Anna smiled and followed Siân down to the common room to the others. Anna was welcomed with a loud cheer from other Gryffindors. They all gasped at Anna’s new hair colour. She smiled and sat next to Danni who was gawping at her. She paid no attention and just drank her pumpkin juice.

“You guys coming to Hogsmead?” said Remus approaching. He stopped and looked at Anna like there was something different.

“It looks nice,” he said. Anna beamed and then stood up. Remus led the way out of the portrait hole followed, by Anna, James, Siân, Alice, Frank Longbottom, Sirius and Danni, to be confronted by a rather stout boy standing in their way. Peter Pettigrew. He followed the group out to Hogsmead looking quite nervous.

They all sat near the Shrieking Shack while Remus, Sirius, James and Peter got them all some drinks. Anna was surrounded by the others who kept singing happy birthday very loudly, as if they were already drunk! Frank sat next to Anna and laughed at the three girls giggling and messing about.

“Err, Anna?” he said nervously, “Would like to go to the Valentines disco with me next Saturday?” Anna looked at him incredulously. He was asking her out. She didn’t know what to say. She was actually hoping to ask someone out herself, but he wasn’t paying any attention to her. She shrugged.
“I guess it would be fun,” she said, smiling, “I mean we could all go together as mates right? That is what you mean?”

“Yeah that’s what I mean…” Frank looked at his feet and then smiled, walking over to the girls. Anna heard some voices behind her. Very argumentative voices in fact.

“… she’s not a girl! She’s a bloody Mudblood!” Anna felt anger flush to her face. She was about to turn around when she heard someone hit the ground. Everyone turned round and Peter was lying on the floor. James was looking over him, his face red with anger. As everyone rushed over to him, Anna stayed where she was. Sirius pulled James away and sat him down on a rock.

“What happened?” Anna exclaimed, “Did you punch him or something?” James looked up at Anna and smiled.

“He was saying things about you,” he explained, “He called you a Mudblood, and I… yes I punched him.” Anna sat down next to him, and put her hand on his shoulder. Smiling, James felt his cheeks redden.

“Thank you,” said Anna. James pulled out a package from his pocket and gave it to Anna.

“Happy birthday.”

**

Only a week ago had Anna found out her true feelings for James Potter, and then James and his group had invited Anna to the Marauders. Anna, at first, was shocked and excited, then understood they had a image to protect.

The Marauders had planned to meet up in the Forest before nightfall. It was like Anna’s initiation kind of thing. Anna walked into the midst of trees with James as they waited for the other three to arrive.

“Are you going to the Valentines disco on Saturday?” asked James as they sat down against a tree. Anna shrugged.

“I dunno,” she said, “I’ve had a few offers but none of the lads interest me to be honest.” Anna acted cool, but she felt James’ warm breath against her cold cheeks and felt her heart melt.

“Same,” replied James casually, “I was hoping for someone special, but they haven’t asked me yet…” Anna’s heart leapt! This was her chance!

“… anyway,” continued James, “I was kind of hoping you’d like to go with me…” Anna’s chest burnt with excitement as she felt James’ hand quickly find its way to her back and he pressed his lips down on hers. Anna was overwhelmed with emotions. Excitement. Joy. Love. Her hands soon were wrapped around James’ neck and she was kissing him back.

There was a loud howl and James pulled away from Anna. He looked up at the night sky. They had kissed for so long that the moon was hanging above their heads. The full moon. James stood up and began cursing. He pulled Anna to her feet and through the trees.

“James what are you doing!” shouted Anna. James shushed her and placed a finger on her lips. There was a rustling of trees and something nearby stepped on a twig. Anna clutched James’ arm and could hear her heart beat faster. Then S

Then Sirius trampled through a bush and fell to his knees. The two rushed to him and helped him up.

“James…” he began, but it was like James had read his mind.

“I know,” he said quickly, “I completely forgotten about it.” Anna pulled James to face her.

“What is going on!” she cried. James put a hand over her mouth and listened out again. Anna pulled free and shook her head in disbelief.

“You kiss me and then act as if I don’t matter!” she screamed moving away from the two. “You know what… you can forget it…” Anna turned away and headed out into the trees.

“Anna!” shouted James, still holding Sirius up. He looked at him.

“Go on,” he said jokingly, “I’ll be fine, I’ll go and get Dumbledore.” James nodded and placed Sirius down before pulling out his wand and following after Anna.

There was a noise and Anna stopped in her path. It was pitch black and she searched her pockets for her wand but couldn’t find it. She cursed and then stopped. Breathing heavily she looked around quickly as if she had heard something.

“Anna…” came a voice from a distant. Anna almost jumped with joy when she recognised it as James voice.

“James!” she shouted, and began running in the direction of his voice. When she had replied James had ran towards her, with his lit wand leading the way. He soon heard her footsteps nearby and sped up. When Anna saw his wands light she ran towards him and leaped into his arms. He held tight to her and lifted her of the ground.

Hello readers, I would like to announce another uppie!!
Thanks Sian for giving me a great idea, I hope you guys all like it, and c'mon! I need more readers!!!!!!

----------------------------------------------

Anna clutched onto James’ arm as they ran through the thick tree’s with James’ wand lighting their path. They eventually stopped, knowing they were completely lost. They heard shouting. Anna almost pinched James’ arm with fear as they looked around. There was footsteps.

“James?” came a voice from nearby. James looked in the direction that it was coming from.

“Sirius!” he gasped. He shoved his wand in Anna’s hands. “Stay right here! don’t move, I’ll be right back…” He kissed her lightly on the cheek and darted off into the midst of trees. Anna stared at the wand in her hand and sat down on the floor, hugging her knees. She rocked herself back and forth breathing slowly.

“Anna?” said a voice behind her. It was Sirius! Then something leaped over Sirius head. He stopped and stared at the creature. Werewolf. Anna guessed it was the same wolf that had attacked her and Marc last full moon. It stared at Anna, his teeth glistened in the moonlight. Sirius stared at her and then began to run. He leaped in the air and transformed into a dog. An Animagus.

The dog charged at the werewolf and distracted it. Anna took this as her chance to run, but couldn’t leave Sirius to die! She retreated quickly and then bumped into James, who was running towards the fight. He stood in front of Anna protectively and then his eyes fell on Sirius’s dog form. He moved Anna behind a tree out of the way of the fight and charged at the werewolf. As he done so, he too transformed. A stag.

Anna’s mind began to race. This scene had happened before. Only the three animals weren’t fighting last time. The night Anna was in here with Marc, they were the animals they saw. Anna saw the wolf strike at James and she clenched James’ wand. She stepped back and stood on something. A rat. It made a noise and she moved her foot from its leg. She looked back at the werewolf. It was gone, and so was James and Sirius.

**

Anna raced into the hospital with Sirius. She rushed to James’ side and sat on the end of his bed. He had been hurt the most. She leaned down and placed his wand in his fist. Lying awake in the bed next to him was Remus. He smiled faintly at Anna, who immediately rushed to him. Anna brushed his sandy coloured hair and smiled.

“Were you attacked by the werewolf too?” she asked, slightly confused. Remus exchanged a glance with Sirius.

“Not exactly…” he replied. Anna looked up at Sirius.

“I didn’t see you at all last night…” she began, “Yet you look worst than James.” She stood up, and examined Remus’ bandaged body. Then the worst hit her.

“Oh…” is all she could say, “I… err… I wont tell anyone…” It took a moment for Remus to understand she knew what he was. He looked at Sirius and back to Anna.

“I would have told you but…” he said, “I was afraid you wouldn’t be my friend anymore…” Anna shook her head, and then stood up, walking out of the hospital without a word. Sirius shrugged and sat in between James and Remus. James woke up suddenly, finding his wand back in his hand. He sat up quickly remembering the night as it flashed in front of his eyes.

“Anna!” he shouted. Sirius quickly stared at James, who was already climbing out of the bed.

“Is she ok?” said James quickly, “Was she hurt? Where is she?” Sirius shrugged.

“I told her James,” said Remus, “About ‘my furry little problem’…” James looked confused and then suddenly understood. He raced down the corridor to find Anna. He bumped into Peter on the way.

“Have you seen Anna?” he said quickly. Peter shrugged and carried on to the hospital. James rushed all the way to the Gryffindor portrait hole. He gave out a big sigh of relief when he saw Anna sitting on the floor beside the Fat Lady. She looked up and gasped.

“James!” she cried, then she returned to a whisper, “Why aren’t you in the hospital?” He pulled her into a big hug and stroked her hair.

“I came to see if you’re alright obviously,” he said, looked down at her. He big blue eyes were glazed with tears.

“What’s up?” he asked, sitting her down at the floor again. “Remus…” she said, James nodded as he knew what she meant. “I just feel so sorry for him,” Anna continued, “He’s only 14, he has the rest of his life with his… condition…”

**

Valentines day. Anna was sitting in the common room at lunch doodling in her notebook. A birthday present off Siân. Remembering that it was a present, she pushed her hand in her robes and pulled out a small parcel. James present. She still hadn’t opened it. Carefully, Anna unwrapped the small box and shook it to see what it was. When she opened it, she saw a golden ball sitting in the box. A Snitch! James was Gryffindors Seeker and constantly caught Snitches. He had gave her one.

Then, Siân and Danni tumbled into the common room. They were laughing so much, their voices filled the air. Anna looked up and saw Danni’s bright red face.

“What happened?” she asked excitedly. Danni just giggle and flopped herself on the chair opposite Anna.

“Sirius asked her to the disco!” cried Siân, and Danni giggle again going even redder than before.

“So anyway,” continued Siân, “Who are you going with?” Anna smiled and looked down at her doodle. It was a cartoon style drawing of James with little hearts around it.

Siân rolled her eyes. “I forgot about you two!” she said, “It’s so cute honestly! But he doesn’t actually act like he is going out with you…” Anna sighed, it was his image he had to keep up. Being a Marauder and being around James a lot was going to hurt, especially when they both know their true feelings for one another.
