Bloomsbury, J.K. Rowling facing copyright infringement lawsuit
J.K. Rowling has been added as a defendant to an ongoing lawsuit against Bloomsbury Publishing Plc, reports Bloomberg. The lawsuit originated from the estate of late author, Adrian Jacobs, who claim J.K. Rowling stole substantial amounts of work from the author, and used them in the "Harry Potter" series.

WB extends partnership with LEGO for "Harry Potter" products
Warner Bros. announced today via press release that they have extended their partnership with toy manufacturer, The LEGO Group. Under the agreement, The LEGO Group will develop construction sets and a board game inspired by "Harry Potter" in time for the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I" later this year.

Actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint from the "Harry Potter" movies have been included on Vanity Fair's "Hollywood's Top 40" list of 2009. Dan is listed at number six, while Emma and Rupert landed in the 14 and 15 spots, respectively.

With the opening of Universal Orlando Resort's "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" set to open this coming Spring, a commercial is set to air during this year's Super Bowl. The commercial will feature all-new footage with Harry Potter and two children experiencing the sights of the new attraction. Update: The commercial has now been added to the official Universal Orlando site which also contains a new microsite.

Universal Orlando Resort is debuting a virtual online tour of the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" attraction Thursday through a partnership with USA Today. Using a map found in Thursday's print edition, users with a webcam can experience an "augmented reality" three-dimensional tour of the park online.

Update: Confirmed: WB planning to purchase Leavesden Studios after 'HP'
A new report has found it's way online indicating that Warner Brothers plans to buy the famous Leavesden Studios after "Harry Potter" filming is complete. Possible plans for the studios include having it as a main hub of post-production for WB's films in Europe, as well as a possible tourists attraction. WB has confirmed these plans through their official twitter account. Update: WB has released an official statement about their planned acquisition.

'Deathly Hallows' set for release in 3D?
An article on The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog states that Warner Brothers is planning on releasing both parts of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" in 3D. Citing that with costs of conversion down ($10 million per film for conversion and distribution) and demand for 3D rising, now is an optimal time for a "Harry Potter" 3D release.

HPANA is helping Haiti heal. "Harry Potter" fans have joined with members of fandoms from other popular books, movies, and tv series (including "Heroes, "True Blood," "The Wire" and "Firefly") to create "Helping Haiti Heal," a home-grown effort to contribute to the growing humanitarian aid and charitable relief activities in Haiti. Update: The telethon is over with, and in less than 23 hours , we've raised $39,000.

For UK fans: Celebrate 'The Wizarding World of Harry Potter' with free stuff
Some lucky fans in the UK have a chance to view "The Wizard World of Harry Potter" footage courtesy of the Daily Telegraph this coming weekend. The newspaper is giving away free a DVD highlighting Universal Orlando Resort's newest addition on Sunday. The following day, fans will also be able to get a free "Harry Potter and the Hogwarts castle" mouse pad -- all they have to do is pick up the newspaper.
