This current critique
is found, almost hidden, in an interview with The Atlantic in which Bloom is featured.
It never stopped. The damn piece was reprinted all over the world, in all languages. I will never hear the end of it. But of course, the Harry Potter series is rubbish. Like all rubbish, it will eventually be rubbed down. Time will obliterate it. What can one say?

Nobody cares about these people! Do they ever get tired of talking against Harry Potter? These people are boring me. Have they even read the books? Not like it will make a difference, because if the do, theey won't want to admit that they're wrong.

I don't live in the US, so I don't know the work of this fellow.
But, here it go a hint for he: In Brazil HP books are still best sellers (OOTP was not released in Portuguese yet, but sold out all copies in English), and we never hear about this guy.
So, in my humble oppinion he is just jealous for the success of Ms. Rowling.

I'm sure his love poem to the bard is FAR more interesting than Harry Potter. Let us all line up to read about his Hamlet obsession. (Yawn)
Don't get me wrong, I love the Bard. I just couldn't stomach any more of Bloom. (What do you expect from a guy who hates TS Elliot?)
In short, Long live Harry Potter
and
"Bloom Brontasaurus Bardolator" should be extinct like the rest of the dinosaurs. :o)

I agree with the others who pointed out that most likely Bloom would have be among those who trashed that common playwriter called Shakespeare, had he lived in those days.
Both Rowling and Shakespeare borrowed from myths, legends and history to create characters and situations. (And Shakespeare has several plays that draw on the mystical and the occult, not just MSND - MacBeth is chock full of witches and ghosts and things) I love Shakespeare, in fact I'm fond of many writers who are considered 'classic literature' and the secret people like Bloom don't want others to know is that there is nothing really intellectual about them, really. Charles Dickens, Jane Austin, Oscar Wilde, Shakespeare, George Eliot etc. didn't write so scholars would write boring tomes about their hidden meanings, they wrote exciting or interesting stories so people would buy their stuff and read them.

This man sounds like a literary snob. I have read some of his reviews and like Abesette, I think he believes that if Shakespeare didn't write it, then it's rubbish. Of course, no one really knows who wrote Shakespear, so maybe it was an ancestor of JKR. (That's for Mr. Bloom)
He comes across from the interview as a complete "I am so much better and smarter that you are" type that I really don't take much stock in his opinion (he seems to think enought of it already)
Later Guys!

Thats so stupid, I wish people would stop putting Harry Potter down when the books are making kids start reading again and they make other people (like me!)happy.

Hee hee! He's bitter! It's just like that AK Byce or whatever her name was... that writer who called adult readers people with no imagination. She was a romance writer-- enough said. Why do these people say this stuff about Hp? Because they want attention!

Will people ever stop? Goodness, Harry Potter is not a bad book, and mostly every kid likes it, so why are all of these crazy adults trying to take it away?
