Alan Rickman
, who portrays everyone’s favorite Prof. Snape in the Harry Potter movies, gives an interview in which he discusses acting, his career and Harry Potter.
Have you noticed a big difference in your career since you've done Snape in the Harry Potter films?
Harry Potter feels like a whole other part of my life. It's somehow not part of the me who did Private Lives in the West End and the me who directed, and who did Love Actually. Harry Potter is like a pocket of life that I go and visit again from time to time.
The part of Snape seemed so perfect for you... there was something about it which made it look like you were stretched and yet sort of confined at the same time. Did you feel that?
Good way of putting it, actually. Because that's what Snape's like. There are such still waters in there. And the trouble is that there's so much we don't know yet 'cause JK Rowling hasn't revealed it. I know a couple of things about all that, that you don't and I'm not telling...

That is wonderful. I was wndering if JKR had clued him in on some of Snape's history so he could portray him accurately. Explains alot about his wonderful characterization.

O.k.,what can we offer him so that he is going to share the "couple of things" he knows about Snape? I WANT TO KNOW! And Phoenix Feather, I don't think it is enough to know Legilimes as Snape is a great Occlumens (according to Remus Lupin);)!
But it was a really interesting interview, and I hope Alan is doing all 7 movies.

Thats cool, i love alan rickman, he is a great actor, i was watching sense and sensibility the other day and i didnt know he was in it and i was sitting there and i was all that dude looks familiar ohhh its snape! Yeah anyways thats my little story for ya'll, he really is very talented though and im glad to see him in harry potter!

This was a great interview. As far as him knowing something that we don't, I think he may be talking about what we find out in POA. I doubt that JK would tell him any future plots. Other characters have said they have asked and did not get any information. Also, he has not read all the books yet. In POA we learn why he hates James, Lupin and our escaped prisioner Pad Foot.

Lovely interview -- lovely man. Love Actually seem to be getting rave reviews. One of my favorites is Truly Madly Deeply -- so totally different than the Snape role. But all of you who hope he continues as Snape thru 7 films. Are you sure Snape is still around for the next 2. No guarantees from JKR as far as I have heard.

I love an actor that is as believable in a role such as Snape as well as that of his character in Sense and Sensibility- as Col. Brandon, he just made me melt. Yet I can't imagine anyone else doing a better Snape. Great to read an interview with him- love anything to do with the man!

I am soooo obsessed with Alan Rickman. He is such a great actor. I also find him very attractive, especially with that smooth deep voice^_^! He is really funny in that movie Dogma, which is one of my favorites. But he is the best as Snape(what a hottie!)I'm so crazy about him. I want to go see Love Actually just to see him.
