Jason Isaacs
would very much like to be in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, reports the World Entertainment News Network
, a celebrity gossip wire service used by the IMDb
.
The actor, who stars in December's Peter Pan reincarnation, is quoted by the news service:
Just as we were finishing Chamber of Secrets, Alfonso CuarĂ³n came along and I got to shake hands with him and that was about it. Then they started Azkaban. I'm sure they had a whale of a time. But I don't know what's happening with Goblet of Fire. I phoned to find out and they said, "We've no idea, sorry. The scripts are just coming in..." There's 700 pages or something that they have to make a two-hour movie from, so I don't know whether they're going to put Lucius Malfoy in or not. If I thought begging would do any good, I'd be out there every day. But that would probably just irritate them.

He is great in the part of Lucius Malfoy, I am sure that if he isn't in Goblet of Fire it would solely be due to time constraints of the film.

O he is lovely.
I like the character of Lucius Malfoy a lot. No I don't want to marry him or anyhing. I just think that he is really good at being really bad, he is handsome, charismatic, is a snob, etc - and it makes the books partially so entertaining.
Jason was perfectly casted for this rol - I don't blame him for wanting to beg to be in Goblet of fire.

Well, it makes sense that he's not in POA.. just because Lucius doesn't really have much going on in that one. If the producers are even considering cutting the character out of GOF, however, they need to be slapped immediately! The pivotal graveyard scene at the end of the TWT needs Death Eaters, ditto the nasty events after the QWC, and Lucius is like *the* most visible Death Eater up through this point.. not to mention how important he will be for setting the stage for what unfolds in OOTP. How anybody could even suggest trashing the character is beyond me!

Making GOB a 2 hour movie and not including Lucius Malfoy would be an injustice to the book! They would have to cut out more than half the book. yikes

I was hoping he'd be in the movie. Why can't they make the movie longer than 2 hours? I thought the lord of the rings movies were 3 hours. I don't understand why they can't extend it. Oh well, I'm still sure that the movie will be great. So I can't wait to see them.

Hello. I'm a Harry Potter fan, trying not to get upset. No Lucius Malfoy? Are they crazy. They must be. After all, he's the second most evil thing in this book. He's virtually a second Hitler. And they might cut him out? They can't cut him out. It's just absurd. Without Lucius, well, why have a Draco? He's important. Being that he's on the Hogwarts Board, he'll have a huge role in the next books, mark my words! You hear that WB? MARK MY WORDS!

No way, they can't just not have Lucius in Goblet of Fire, for one thing, we'll finally get to 'meet' Narcissa. Merlin's wand, if Lucius isn't in it, whom will I be able to drool over? (is IRL female and *clears throat* middle-aged :-) )

And if they take out Lucius, how the heck are the movie-goers gonna know that he is indeed evil, a huge Voldemort supporter, a traitor to the Ministry, and all??? That would be surprising to those who havent read, only watched, will it? So, how stupid are they to take him out?
My friends and I talked this morning and we all agreed that WB is ruining Harry Potter and theyre only producing movies for money, not for passion, etc. So all 16 of us in our group agreed not to watch the movie since they are ruining it so much! WB is already INSULTING the Harry Potter fans, and Im not gonna be one of their victims. I dont want to have a stupid and empty brain as they have. I dont ever want to be as uncreative, untalented, illogical, unimaginative, and greedy as they are. A two-hour movie? Cutting of Lucius Malfoy? Cutting of important scenes? The destruction of the story? Messing up the series? Insulting US? NO. We will not be victims. We will not be influenced by their unintelligent brains and empty imagination. We will not watch Goblet of fire. We will only watch it if they grant the Harry Potter fans' wishes. We will only watch it if they would have the DETERMINATION, DISCIPLINE, THE BRAINS, AND THE TALENT to make the HP films beat LoTR and other epics. We will only watch it if they make is a hundred times as beautiful as the lord of the rings films. We promise.

Hehe...Wow that going to be a tough job to do the fourth novel in two hours only. Honestly I wouldn't care how long the movie is as long as it goes with the book. I'll sit in the theatre forever if I have to. Well I guess Warner doesn't care for petitions. The movie should be extended or maybe someone should start a riot.

I hope they do include him. He has to be in there somewhere or the 5th movie won't make any sense to those who haven't read the book.

I they end up completely butchering the fourth movie i am going to be pissed! i really think that jason isaacs is wodnerful as lucius and he deserves to be in another movie. I hope they don't take out any other crucial aprts to the fourth book. :( I guess sometimes the movie can never compete with the book.

I still to this day have no idea how on earth they're going to fit the fourth book into a two hour movie...what i mean is, IF they could, it would have to be a blooming genius of director to get the whole feel of the book. And lucius HAS to be in it, NO questions about it!

Without Lucius in GoF, I'm gonna be depressed. I mean its bad enough to not see him in PoA, but for him to be out two movies in a row is just an outrage! In my opinion Lucius is a very vital character and to keep the movie true to books, I think that we should at least get a glimpse of what he's up to, movie length be damned!!!

Would they just skip the whole graveyard scene? can't do that! they better at least have the luscious Lucius make a cameo under his Death Eater's hood for the sake of the story.
