Potter baddie Jason Isaacs discusses
his new upcoming film, Peter Pan and how he nearly didn't do the Harry Potter movies.
Jason Isaacs who plays the villainy Lucius Malfoy talks about why he did the Harry Potter movies as well as the addicting factor of the books.
"So, I wasn't quite sure whether to do Lucius Malfoy or not. I read all four books in one sitting and I suddenly understood why my friends, who I'd thought were slightly backward, had been so addicted to these books.
"You know, they're like crack, but nonetheless, I thought, 'Should I really do Lucius Malfoy, I just committed to doing Captain Hook?' All my godchildren called me and said, 'You have to do it'. And I've got a young daughter Lily so all these kids were saying she'd be really proud of me when she's older, she was six months at the time."

Well i m glad that he did the HP movies only he could play that part as well as he did!! Peter Pan looks great too and i m sure he will do well in that movie too and when i saw the tralier for tat movie i was like hey its Lucius!! ha!! i m going ot see that movie and hopefully he will be in the rest of the HP movies!!

Wow I'm glad that he played Lucius. The world is so much better now. What's amazing though, is that that's pretty much the same reason Richard Harris played Dumbledore. His grandaughter said that if he didn't then she would never talk to him again. And isn't that what happened to Emma Thompson too? So many actors getting threatened by their children or grandchildren or godchildren.... So *snort* sad!

Wow... All 4 books in one sitting. I read relatively quick, and I don't think I could have done that. Especially with Goblet of Fire... I'd say he's too hooked if he really managed to do that.

Jason Isaacs is the perfect person to play Lucius Malfoy. When I first read the books, I pictured Lucius just as Isaac's character from The Patriot. SO cold blooded and unfeeling. So good looking as well (the eyes are amazing!). And then I found out he was Lucius Malfoy! Very cool!
I enjoyed the interview - not much is said about his work in other places. I liked his character in Armageddon - one of his few roles as a good guy!
I do hope they ask him back for more films. Definitely for GoF - he's integral at the end!

Yeah, he was a great Lucius Malfoy and I think he'll probably be a good Hook too because it seemed he really loved playing that part and when you have a good actor that enjoys what he does great! I do hope they invite him back for the fourth film because he said he wants to be in it.

Jason is bloody brilliant as Mr. Malfoy!! It is interesting to see him now play other characters...you can't help but think of him as Lucius. I only hope that he gets to be in all the remaining movies. I think I read somewhere that he is not in the upcoming POA, but really wants to act in GOF. Who know what WB is going to do with that book. I mean there is so much material that it could be a six hour movie, no problem. WB is never going to do that, so it will be interesting to see how much we see of Lucius going forward.
