WOW, germans are lucky!!!!
By me in Italy it seems that Harry Potter does not exist !!!
( On TV I mean )... they just gave the trailers of the PS and of COS when they came out on cinemas, and some times, they advertise the video game, but we do not know anything about seeing those movies on TV !!!
But I do not loose my hopes, and I also wish to watch a cartoon about Harry Potter some time in the future, it would be nice, don't you think ??

Hey, I just forgot to mention, that, at least, here in Italy we will watch the 1st movie of Lord of the Rings next monday on national TV.... maybe that means that we will not have to wait much longer to watch Harry Potter finally on TV :)

Some of you wanted to know what the text says, here is the English Translation for the german text:
A QUESTION OF THE REPUTATION
EOS-Producer Jan Mojito ("Napoleon", long years a high manager of the media mogul Leo Kirch) knows the german tv's reason for buying movies in the USA:
"That is a question of reputation. There are movies which you have to get."
Bought early and shown late
RTL has bought the license in 2002. The Contract says that the first "Harry Potter" and the First movie of "Lord of the Rings" is allowed not until 2005 in the german tv.
------------------------
We in Germany must wait very often very long for cinema movies shown on tv.

Any ideas on why they take so long to put the HP movies on TV?
Wouldn't it be awesome to watch HP in german? Well, I do not speak German, but the voices would be funny. I watched part of CoS in spanish (I do not speak spanish) and it was very funny. The voices are so bad. If any of you have DVD's of HP, listen to them in spanish- it will make your week. It is a hole new perspective of HP.

I feel so sorry for them that they have had to wait that long, and it's still at least 9 months away! I would definitely buy it instead of waiting for it.

Well, I guess they want to get all the money they can from the movie before they put it out there for free. Just think of all the kids who are too little, or haven't even been born yet, what they will have to look forward to when they read the stories and see the movies for the first time!

Foreign language television houses do get the rights a lot later. I don't exactly remember but the Hindi version of SS came out sometime in 2005 too.
