What do Peter Jackson, Simon Cowell, the Pope, JK Rowling and U.S. President George W. Bush have in common? J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter books, was listed as one of the "Artists and Entertainers" of Time magazine's just published list of the 100 "World's Most Influential People."
According
to Time magazine:
JK Rowling
Publishing's gentle Pied Piper
Age: 38
Author of the galactically successful series of Harry Potter children's books. "Her influence is quiet because it's private, a transaction between her imagination and ours, and it is measured in gratitude, to a woman who has used her power well."
The current issue of Time magazine
will hit newsstands on Monday.

Way to go, Ms. Rowling! She definitely deserves it, because her series has inspired many kids and adults to read, but also a lot of authors to copy cat her series...

This is so cool congratulations to JKR she is such a great writter... but I'm afraid to say that she is the only autor who make the mexican kids read... here in mexico is so difficult for us as adults to make a child to read a full book, but with harry potter is really diferent, and no only for the kids, adults and grown ups like it too...

Wow! I must say, she has certainly been the most influential person on me the last 6 or so years! Harry Potter has got to be my favouriet thing in the world! After my family and friends of course. BUt still, I can't even find words to describe how amazingly amazing JK must be to write such powerfully wonderful books. She is a treasure, a national treasure, not just for her books, but the work she does for other people as well. Keep up the brilliant work! She deserves every inch of credit that she receives.

Well put. She's very lucky to have a hold on so many people in our most vulnerable places. Clearly people are very involved with her creation, it must be amazing to be her.

Well,if you think about it,it's not that surprising!I mean, her books are read by a billion of people all over the world,if she wanted to save loggerhead turtles(just an example),she could have a great deal of support(Not money)!Maybe that was not the best example, but I hope everyone gets the contorted meaning!
