ABC's May 9 presentation of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone has deleted scenes edited back into the film by director Chris Columbus.
The disclosure was revealed in a Video Store Magazine article
, Wizard News reported today. "It will be the first time the movie has been seen this way," said a Warner Bros. spokesperson. "Director Chris Columbus went back and added 20 minutes of footage to the actual movie."
U.S. television network ABC is debuting Sorcerer's Stone on Sunday, May 9 in a four hour telecast that will feature the extended version of the film, interstitials with the movie's stars in which they take viewers behind the scenes, and a 10-minute sneek peak at Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which hits theaters this summer.

I am hoping that this new extended version will be released on DVD! I am looking forward to seeing this on TV - too bad it will be small screen and not in the movie theatre! The 10 minute preview of PoA should be good!

This will be fun to see. I checked out the info on the extra things they are showing. Unfortunatley it is just putting the deleted scenes back in. I wish there was more they were showing.

If the ratings are high enough, when ABC shows the extended edition, it may inspire WB to release a version with these and other scenes included.
Since they were able to find an additional twenty minutes laying around the cutting room floor, I wonder how many scenes they could include in an extended DVD release?
I am sure there is a market for such a version, considering the fact that, the regular versions of the first two films, is still selling.

i know that they deleted the part where Snape actually tells harry the answer of his question during their first time in DADA. and also when Neville got the leg-lock curse from malfoy. but still, i gotta tape it!
