Many thanks to Lukullus of German site Harry Potter Xperts
for letting us know that the official German and French sites have posted high-res versions of the international teaser trailer that BBC's Film 2004 with Jonathan Ross debuted in February!
Our official german site from Warner Bros. has put a new trailer of the third harry potter movie online... It's available in all three formats and is the whole trailer, which we have seen at BBC...
German version:

I'm so glad to see the trailer in quicktime although harry's voice is waaaaaaaaaay too higher. he sounds like a 9 year old. but anyway apart from that its pretty good.

Though I had to play the Amerian audio of the trailer while watching the better version in French in Quicktime format, I must admit that I enjoyed listening to the lines being said in other languages. Very, um, educational?
I would simply adore it if the American Harry Potter web-site uploaded a similar trailer as well!

These are very cool! Generally I am not a fan of dubbing (only because you miss so much inflection from the original actor's performance) - but I do understand why they've gone with it for HP since they expect to draw lots of younger kids who don't have the patience for subtitles.
Anyway, I love the shot of Lupin wrapped up & sitting beside the frosted window on the train. Darn it, isn't it June yet?

The German one was especially different though.
What's up with the high voice? It makes Dan sound like a girl!
However, the French version sounded really cool! The music was slower and it was a bit darker in the beggining. It made it more gloomy and eerie (Did I spell that right? I can spell Lake Erie but not the scary eerie.).

Hehe. Harry had a way higher voice, it sounds so weird since his voice has gone way deeper. And i think i understood some of the french but i didn't understand a word of french said. I had it mostly memorized though so that's great i guess.

I imagine the German counterpart has the same age as Dan, which is why he was hired (among other reasons). What's really unusual is not so much as the high-pitched dubbing voice, but Dan's own voice. He has a deeper pitch than most boys of his age. He's 13 in the film, yet he sounds like 16 or older. OTOH, Tim Schwarzmaier has the typical voice. So, the odd one really is Dan.

I really love to see it in other languages cause it`s interrestinga nd very funny. I have seen the 2 movies in english,dutch( I am dutch so it is interresting to see how they translate sentences.),german and french and it was very funny. verry odd that they didn`t pic a new actor for the german voice cause a lot of other counties have a broken harry voice.
