CBBC Newsround
reports that John Malkovich
could be playing Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which currently has a running time for the script of up to four hours according to a newspaper report.
Malkovich is well known for playing bad guys in films and will share the role with a computer-generated image of the villain.
According to the Daily ExpressHe will only play Voldemort once the character has regained strength in the film though. At the start of the fourth book, Voldemort has been reduced to a small, helpless creature, which will be created by a computer.
Warner Bros. has not confirmed or denied this rumor yet, but we'll update as soon as we hear anything.
UPDATE: CBBC Newsround
are now reporting that 'Warner Bros has killed off the rumor that actor John Malkovich will play Lord Voldemort in the Goblet Of Fire.' Very fast denial by Warner Bros & considering that the Daily Express was the paper to report this story first, I would take the movie length as rumor also.

I think he would be great, but I doubt it is true. As many pointed out he is not British. This would certainly be a change in policy for the production company.
As for 4 hours....YES!!!! Anything less would not do justice to the book.

Too bad about the movie length. I couldn't really see John Malkovich as Voldemort, but the four hour running time made me ecstatic, as it would mean they would be able to include a LOT from the book.
Sigh.

Thank god he won't be playing... he's a great actor but we all know that the greatest villains on screen has been played by the british... I just love Alan Rickman & John Isaacs...they are so... "in control" rage and hate.. that I doubt any other could play Voldemort (please not "voldey"... does not sound proper for such a character)than a good british actor...
So far I'm pleased with the characters played on screen.

I LOVE Malkovich, just not as Voldemort. He's not British and his face is too round. I envision someone tall with thin facial features. Someone like Jeromy Irons and he's British.

Well now the rumor is shot down.. and I wouldn't have liked him playing Voldemort anways.. as everyone already said, he's not British!! I love Harry Potter as much as any of you do but I don't think a 4 hour movie would be the best idea.. thats even longer than LOTR movies (w/o extended edition). I think the most it should be is 3.. but that's just my opinion.

They're making a movie out of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy??? I LOVE THAT BOOK! I've gotta go see that movie! Personally, I don't really care who winds up playing Voldemort, as long as they do a good job.

I think he could make a good Voldemort, but I dont know.. whatever I really dont care. and about the accent thing, I've seen one of the mives he has appear on, 'Johnny English', and he makes the bad guy with a french accent and its pretty good if you tell me. He could make a british accent or something. I dont know..but Im okay with whoever they pick.

Hmmm...I've never seen one of his movies or heard of him before but if the castors pick him, I know he's good. They've never yet failed to get the best people for the roles. (For example Dan for Harry;)

Well it is an interesting rumor, but since WB was already discounted it I guess we don't have to worry about it. I know he is not british, but he would have done a great job - I think. It will be interesting to see who they ultimately get to play this important role.

Hrm...Malkovich? Well I don't really know much of him to opinianate. I do hope the film is four hours, the longer the film, the better. Warner Bros. should know that no matter how long the film is, we'll see it anyway. That's more than obvious, dude.
