British newspapers the Sunday Mirror and The Express are reporting that the roles of Cho Chang and Madam Maxime have been cast for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
The Sunday Mirror is reporting
that the part of Cho Chang will be played by Katie Leung, 16, who is from Scotland and who beat out more than 4,000 girls for the part and according to a movie insider:
"Harry develops a crush on Cho in the Goblet of Fire. It is fair to say that she becomes his first- ever girlfriend, so it's an important part.
"The film producers and author J. K. Rowling were keen to get a complete unknown for the part of Cho Chang and Katie's absolutely perfect. She's pretty, bright and one can see why Harry would have a crush on her. She has a glittering career ahead of her."

Also, according to last week's British newspaper, The Express, the role of Madam Maxime is to be played by Audrey Tautou who is close to final negotiations with Warner Bros.
According to The Leaky Cauldron:
" Harry Potter giant Hagrid has found his mate - in Amelie actress Audrey Tautou. The French beauty is in final negotiations to star in Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire as school mistress Madame Maxine, an 8 ft giantess who steals the heart of Hagrid, played by Robbie Coltrane. My source says: "Madame Maxine is this huge ugly giant whom everyone else finds terrifying. But the gag is that when Hagrid looks at her, all he sees is the beautiful Audrey Tatou."
These rumors have still to be confirmed by Warner Bros. and we will update as soon as we can.

The Cho part is clearly believable but not Madame Maxime. She has to be someone who is big boned, whether or not Hagrid sees her as a little petite model. Also Madame Maxime is not ugly like they said. I hope they find the right person for Madame Maxime.

I wish her the best of luk in expressing her character's emotions, especially in the fifth, if she decideds to return -- what girl would refuse such an offer if they were able to kiss Daniel? I predict that Steve Kloves will definitely expand the romance between Harry and Cho much further than it was in the book by having more scenes with them, as the only real romantic scene in the book between them had been the kiss. I want the fifth film to have the essence of a teen soap opera with a fantasy touch.
Although visual effects can always enlarge the size of Audrey, I hope the rumor of her playing Trelawney is false for some reason. Oops,
I meant to say that the rumor of her playing Madam Maxime is false...;)

Im realy glad that they are almost done with choosing actors. The sooner they are done, the sooner they can start filming. I am having trouble imagining Katie as Cho, from that picture she looks a bit chunky (I mean her face). I always imagined Cho to have a more pointy chin and skinier face. Oh well, I'll just have to deal with that.

I really can not see Audrey as Maxine. From the wording of the article(as posted on TLC) it sounds like Audrey will be Hagrid's vision of Maxine? In any case, it will be interesting to see how it looks on screen.

first of all, congrats to Katie on being chosen as Cho. She has a huge role to fill. secondly, from reading many interviews from Dan, he has not admitted to continuing his role as Harry Potter after GOF, so he might not be in the liplock. I don't think Steve Kloves will expand the romance because it doesn't need to be. When most girls see the kissing scenes, they aren't going to want to see anymore.

What were they thinking when they considered Audrey Tautou for Madame Maxime? There's no way she fits their description! She's extremely petit and hardly ugly. Did any of you see her at the Dirty Pretty Things after party? Elle est extrêmement belle! There's no way they can make her ugly or 8 feet tall...It's just not possible.
