According to Internet reports, a zealous fan has apparently learned the title of JK Rowling's sixth Harry Potter book.

, the information was supposedly gleaned from a secret area on the author's official site (behind the locked door). The message, written in first person and discussing book six's progress, is dated July 1, which coincides with the expected monthly update of Rowling's site:

Erm... it is perhaps time for me to reveal the title of Book 6! I am nearing completion of the first draft and have definitely decided upon a title. I had numerous possibilities in mind, but as I wrote, I realized that only one did the book justice.
The more clever Potter fans may recognize that the title relates directly to both Order of the Phoenix and Chamber of Secrets. I will be highly amused if one of you can guess exactly what's going on!
On a side note, the length of the book is growing so fast, I could swear Filius has put an Engorgement Charm on it; an editor's nightmare! I promised myself not to exceed the length of Order of the Phoenix, but every day that passes makes that undertaking more difficult. Incidentally, I have much more work ahead.
Alas, the time has come! Here is the reward for you lot that so diligently figured out all the puzzles on the site. If you scroll down to the bottom of this page, I will reveal to you the title of Book 6!
The title of Book 6 is: Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé.
Earlier, the "secret area" in question was simply a locked door that led to a book whose pages were filled with lorem ipsum -- filler text that is often used when designers are laying out a page (print or online) so they can better visualize how it will look when finished. Rowling commented about it on her site last month after a hacker found his way in.
Consider Pillar of Storgé an unconfirmed rumor (and keep in mind that "PoS" does not make a very nice acronym). If it's true, however, you might be interested to know the meaning behind "storgé":
From the Greek word storg, pronounced stor'gee (like psyche), in use in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries to mean natural or instinctive affection, usually that of parents for their offspring, but no longer current. (The natural affection of parents for their offspring.)
Update: Check out this great site brimming with everything you could possibly want to know about the whole debacle. MuggleNet also offers up some reasons why this could just be an elaborate, well-executed prank.

I always thought book 6's title would relate back to Sirius' disappearance in book 5 behind the veil?! I guess thats too recognisable.

May be this could be the title because the pillar of storge (in my opinion) means like a wall or pillar that stands between hary and voldemort as it is now not because of lily and james maybe its going to be because of petunia or something, dumbledor mentioned something like this in OotP, and this could be the title or this could not be, i don't know i just wish that rowling announces the title soon because there is not much these days because PoA has been released and there is only news about it breaking records and its premiers, so the talk of book 6 should be hot and it couldn't be hot until the title is here so that we could think something about that whats in the book, i m not going to believe it until jk announces it herself.
i just hope the book turns out to be great and is released sooner and when my exams are not going on or are near, it should be in something like late december this year or early january next year.
IT should be good the wait the anticipation...first it was for PoA now its for the 6th book.

I dont think that its real anymore :(.. Yesterday i was about to die I was so happy! Then today i went back to mugglenet and all this stuff that proved it wasn't true seemed real. And why would it be called Harry Potter and the Pillar of Parental Love?! Sorge is Parental Love in Greek.

I think it's really cool how JK founds out all these Greek and Latin words and meanings and fits them into her books! It's really cool how she always pulls things together like that. I can't wait for the next book to come out! I hope it explains even more than all the others did. That was a really great article as well.
