The recent news that the title of book six would be Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé have been floating around the Web for a few days, but author J.K. Rowling has confirmed
what many fans have suspected all along - that the rumors about the title were a hoax.
According to her spokesperson the title is "definitely a hoax" and now Rowling has updated her site with her take on the rumor, as well as answered some frequently asked questions people have sent her -- check out the FAQ & Rumours section.
In her own words:
I am trying very hard not to feel offended that anyone thought this was possible. 'Storgé', for crying out loud. Come on, people, get a grip.
Also, thanks to MuggleNet for letting us know that the 'Do Not Disturb' sign has been removed from the door and it opens to reveal a brick wall -- will hitting the right sequence reveal something (like the real title to book 6)? Go and see!

HBP is the real thing though, JKR isnt that mean... i think it is a good title. i mean we are all making judgements against it when we dont even know the significance of the Half Blood Prince. it could mean so much!! then all of you nay-sayers will love it! haha! ma JK is brilliant!

Well I knew that once we waitied for Jo to talk up she would give us the real title. The HBP sounds interesting. She said that she was even going to use this title on the second book but she thought it gave too much away. Hmmm wonder what that's suppose to mean......

Not very nice ttitle but ataleast we found out!!!
The storge was a very nice title indeed but I didn't understand what is it so it was a bit confusing to be honest.
