The recent news that the title of book six would be Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé have been floating around the Web for a few days, but author J.K. Rowling has confirmed
what many fans have suspected all along - that the rumors about the title were a hoax.
According to her spokesperson the title is "definitely a hoax" and now Rowling has updated her site
with her take on the rumor, as well as answered some frequently asked questions people have sent her -- check out the FAQ & Rumours section.
In her own words:
I am trying very hard not to feel offended that anyone thought this was possible. 'Storgé', for crying out loud. Come on, people, get a grip.
Also, thanks to MuggleNet
for letting us know that the 'Do Not Disturb' sign has been removed from the door and it opens to reveal a brick wall
-- will hitting the right sequence reveal something (like the real title to book 6)? Go and see!
If you just can't wait, highlight the following text to read the secret text: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
New: Read our exclusive interview with the man behind the Storgé hoax.

Aha! I knew there was something fishy about that title! When I first saw it, I was thinking, what the heck is 'Storge'? But then I saw the real title earlier and was very much relieved. Finally, the really real title of book 6!!!

Well this is very interesting to see. But there is nothing that says this is or is not the title. JKR may be having a bit of fun on this one. Best to wait until we here from her officially that this is the title and not just a bit of fun from her.

It took me a while to find the right combination of bricks, but now I see it's true, there is a little room, like a closet, and you have to double-click on the fan to get the page, it says 'Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince' . Mugglenet says it was one of the posible titles for CoS, and that make sense to me, but if it was like that, I wonder why all the mistery about the door, instead of posting that info on the 'Extra Stuff' page?

Ok, im still having trouble! When I go to the automatic button to get to the wall... nothing happenes , but there is no sign "do not disturb" on the handle. But when I go to her official site, there are things that you can click on, but there is the sign on the handle and it wont let me see the brick wall. Does anyone else have this problem? I cant seem to get in. If any one has suggestions..?

You don't need to go to all these other sites, a few people have already explained it, and it's been written about in the forums. http://www.hpana.com/forums/topic_view.cfm?tid=4481 At first I didn't understand why there are so many threads popping up for this. Woudn't it be easier to just have one and everyone posts to it. Then I read about the point system. So I have to assume people are trying to "pad their stats." Kinda rediculous. It seems like there's a lot of redundancy around here.

OK, for some reason everytime I go to JKRowling.com and click on the hair scrunchy, the door still has a "Do not disturb" sign on it, can anybody help me? And about the title, I personally think "Pillar of Storge" was a lot better than "Half Blood Prince", I really hope it's just another trick but if it isn't, oh well, I really don't care what the title is, I just want the book :)

I am skeptical, because of the message in the mirror nearby. It even says in the welcome message to look out for Peeves. And the paper looks crumpled, like it was discarded? The earlier comments about the title not being as dynamic as the others is true, and I can't think of who this Prince would be, except for maybe Trevor, Neville's toad? Or can only frogs be princes?

I'm beginning to wonder if JK isn't taking us for a spin herself...She does like to mess with us, you know. I mean, 'Half Blood Prince' doesn't exactly roll off your tounge like Goblet of Fire or Sorcerer's Stone... And she has been know to 'rock the boat' to keep us interested.
I'm beginning to wonder.....

I thought that that was a false name because why would she anounce the name this early when she has not yet finished the first draft yet and there is still a whole lot of work to be done. The way that JK is talking that the 6th book might not be done until summer of 2005 so she has plenty of time to do the title. From what I hear is that she has a few that she wants to do like The Green Flame tourch which i heard had a high chance of being picked. Thats all i know right now so...........
Peace,
