Just a few days after the announcement that book 6 of JK Rowling's blockbuster series would be Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, two online booksellers have created the ability to sign up to be the first to know when the book is ready for release:

Well I can not wait to find out when the next book comes out!! I am sure it will most likely be next year, but the sooner we know the sooner the book will be here. It is getting bitter sweet since we only have 2 more books to go!!

It's not worth signing up. I signed up to be notified when the publication date of "Order of the Phoenix" was released... but I didn't receive the email from Amazon or B&N (I had signed up for both!) until at least a full day after reading it here on HPANA.

Haha, it's so sad that I saw the terms "release date" and got way to excited, only to find out we didn't really have one yet. So really though, I think checking on here would be just as good, but I'll sign up anyways, just for kicks.

Very neat idea but I don't think that I'll take advatage quite yet. I'm fairly certain that more information on the release date will be found here than on the booksellers sight. It's a good idea though.

I have heard that it won't be out until may of 05. I did of course here this on harrypotter.com in a messege chat but... I think it may be true. As someone else pointed out June is a good time the kids are out of school. Just my two pennies... worth of thought
