Author JK Rowling accepted an honorary degree from the University of Edinburgh
this afternoon.
The Harry Potter novelist, who lived in the Scotland capital city while writing the first book in the series, picked up a similar honor
in 2000 from Edinburgh's Napier University.
"I am delighted and honoured to be receiving an honorary degree from the University of Edinburgh, my adopted home city," said Rowling in February.

Yes, JK Rowling truely deserves the award. i mean, after all the trouble and scandals she's gone through because people disagreed with her books... it's great that finally in the end, she gets the award that's truely hers.
let's face it, people love the world of fantasy, and JK Rowling brought that world to us through HP books. Thanks for your imagination and books!!!

Well deserved. She has been improving the reading ability of many young people - much better than many educators - by enticing them to read her wonderful stories. It is nice to see her appreciated.
