Many new Web sites have sprung up dedicated to Katie Leung since it was announced that she had been cast as Cho Chang in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire but Warner Bros. is now insisting
that the Katie Leung blogs that have recently appeared on the internet were not written by her.
Fake blog entries supposedly written
by Katie have surfaced which means that fans can be easily duped into believing that they are communicating with the star. A few months ago a fan thought they were communicating with Daniel & agreed to meet him in England after traveling from Chile, of course this was an imposter, as Daniel never communicates
with his fans this way. So please be careful, if you think you talking to someone from the movies - you're not & please don't give out personal information to anyone you don't know.

Thestral Eyes says:
Well, i have to say, those people who get tricked in to believing they are talking to a star are pretty gullable, since when do most stars arange to meet strange fans and tell them to come over from another country?
It horrible that people would actualy be so deceptive, and anyone found to be writing these false blogs should be stoped and punished.

I think it's terrible that people find it funny when they say they're a star from HP. I mean, what if they did that to a younger kid, and agreed to meet them somewhere, and it's a petaphile or something...I don't want to think about it. Shame on those imposters!!!!

Do people have nothing better to do than to make up websites pretending to be someone that they're not? This is just ridiculous! The internet is a great way to get info quickly but I hate the fact that people are abusing it -- such as the hoaxer who pretended to be J.K. Rowling. I wish people would get a grip.
Unfortunately, mostly the younger fans are the ones that end up falling for this
1. because of their guilibity
2. they're so excited about it actually being the person they don't stop to consider it might not be real
Lupin: Harry, I've left a letter telling your aunt and uncle not to worry -
Harry: They won't
Lupin: - that you're safe-
Harry: That'll just depress them.
Lupin: - and you'll see them next summer.
Harry: Do I have to?

I can't believe there are people who would do that. What can someone hope to gain by duping a fellow HP fan? I hope this Katie will put up an official website or something like that.

Why do people have to do that? They gain nothing and they'll get into trouble anyway. That poor fan, I'm not sure how far England is from Chile but it must have cost a lot of money and time to travel between those two places.

I agree. Most actors and actresses DON'T HAVE time to chat or make a blog or anything, so for me it's obviously fake. and besides she'll be very busy filming GoF.

I am glad that I never believe in any of that stuff. But that would be really great if you could talk to the stars on the computer. That would also be cool if Daniel had his own offical website, like Tom... but I suppose he is probably to busy.

I don't know which is sadder, the people pretending to be famous or the people who believe it! Even people like JKR who have their own official site can be vulnerable to a hoax, as we recently saw. So it's good to remind people to be careful!
