She answers questions about Arthur Weasley (Ron's dad), Tom Riddle (the future Voldemort) and what is the relation between Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (book 2) and the upcoming book six.
Why are some people in the wizarding world (e.g., Harry) called 'half-blood' even though both their parents were magical?
The expressions 'pure-blood', 'half-blood' and 'Muggle-born' have been coined by people to whom these distinctions matter, and express their originators' prejudices. As far as somebody like Lucius Malfoy is concerned, for instance, a Muggle-born is as 'bad' as a Muggle. Therefore Harry would be considered only 'half' wizard, because of his mother's grandparents.
If you think this is far-fetched, look at some of the real charts the Nazis used to show what constituted 'Aryan' or 'Jewish' blood. I saw one in the Holocaust Museum in Washington when I had already devised the 'pure-blood', 'half-blood' and 'Muggle-born' definitions, and was chilled to see that the Nazis used precisely the same warped logic as the Death Eaters. A single Jewish grandparent 'polluted' the blood, according to their propaganda.

Does anyone else feel that she kind of confused us with her answer to information about the Half-Blood Prince? Aww...man I wanted Mr. Wesley to be the Minister too. Will I really have to go back to reading the Chamber...? I'm actually reading the POA again and after that reading GOF, since I am out of school for the summer! Loving the experience all over again!

I wished that Arthur would be minister. :( O well. So, what is this discovery harry made?? it'll probably have something to do with Gryfindors sword, you know,
"only a true Gryfindor could have pulled it out..."

I must say (having not yet joined any of the Common Room discussions about who the HBP is), I want to look back at what we learned about Hagrid in Chamber of Secrets. We don't know a lot about him, besides bits revealed here and there in each of the books, some of which we learned in CoS, about his early days at Hogwarts. I'm intrigued by the discussion of Godric Gryffindor and the sword, but I am stuck on Hagrid being the HBP. I always thought there was much more for us to learn about him. And I do think the HBP will be one of the living, main characters.

haha YES I WAS RIGHT!!!!!
Sorry for the caps but I knew Arthur wouldn't be Minister I mean come on. I even have proof. On almost every thread about the sixth book that has something about the Minister I've always said that it wouldn't be Arthur but most likely and preferably Madam Bones because she has a better chance.

I know I already posted but I forgot to write that i really think and there is no doubt in my mind, that it is Hagid who is the -half blood prince-!

It's really great that she's clearing all these questions up, but I wish that the book was done, so she wouldn't have to anymore and we could answer them for ourselves!

Awesome I love when JKR answers more questions!! Too bad Mr. Weasley isn't the MoM! That would have been cool. Hmmm..I wonder which discovery in CoS it was..there were quite a few! Darn..guess I'll just have to wait for book six.

I was never for the whole Arthur Weasley as MOM. It was just too easy and I doubt JKR would give us all what we want until maybe the end of book 7. As for the HBP not being Tom Riddle, I think sometimes we look into things too much. Of course it wouldn't be him, he's Voldemort!

Its really cool that she can find the time to answer so many questions! The suspense is definately building! Hrm...there are a lot of things that were revealed in the chamber, like the sword and the whole explanation of Tom Riddle being half-blood, but as we know, the prince isn't him...so, that's not it. Hrm...its one of these things that make you think a lot. Hehehe!

I love it the way she tells us stuff. I Also think the HBp is Godric Gryffindor but that would be too easy . Her books always have twists i don't think it would be the easy!
Thanks JK !

I thougt there is something between the Chamber and the HBP.
And comparing Death Eaters to Nazis is a good way of explaining it. Also the fact I'm Jewish and how she mentioned it is good to.

Does it have anything to do with him discovering that he's a parselmouth??? I could be stumbling in the dark here, but I wanted to get the more obvious options out of the way. now I'll be wondering about it until the book comes out! I might not make it the suspense is killing me! Too bad Arthur isn't MoM, he would've been really great at it!

I was reading this over and over and it finally hit me.
'Therefore Harry would be considered only 'half' wizard, because of his mother's grandparents.'
Is this a mistake or could it be that one or both of Lily's parents are wizards? Therefore, Petunia would be a squib.
