According to a local resident near Berkhamsted, England
, filming for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has been going on in the area for the past few days.
Russell Brown, a resident of nearby Beacon Hill, came across a "large film crew" and found that it was in fact Warner Bros., filming what appeared to be the scene where Harry, the Weasleys and the Diggorys meet at a certain portkey to get themselves to the Quidditch World Cup:
On Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th July 2004 I was happy to come across a large film crew on one of the hills just outside my village (Beacon Hill which is located in the Ivinghoe hills near Berkhamsted). On further inspection I quickly found out that it was in fact Warner Brothers productions, and they were filming the 4th installment of Harry Potter.
From where I was standing I was able to see the characters of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Mr. Weasley, George and Fred Weasley, and what I have come to believe to be Amos and Cedric Diggory. It looked like they were filming the scene where they are travelling to the portkey, as at the top of the hill stood one large boot which all the characters were walking towards and all looked rather exhausted after the sixth take.
The main actors Dan [Radcliffe], Emma [Watson], Rupert [Grint], and Bonnie Wright all left the set at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and doubles stepped in and continued working till 8:30 p.m.
The Leaky Cauldron has confirmed
this account through their usual reliable sources. The report exactly matches the book version of events:
"Well, have a lovely time," said Mrs. Weasley, "and behave yourselves," she called after the twins' retreating backs, but they did not look back or answer. "I'll send Bill, Charlie, and Percy along around midday," Mrs. Weasley said to Mr. Weasley, as he, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny set off across the dark yard after Fred and George.
...
They didn't have breath to spare for talking as they began to climb Stoatshead Hill, stumbling occasionally in hidden rabbit holes, slipping on thick black tuffets of grass. Each breath Harry took was sharp in his chest and his legs were starting to seize up when, at last, his feet found level ground.

Fantastic! Even though the filming is not confirmed at that location (I get extremely suspicious with all the hoaxes flying around and don't believe anything til confirmed by official sources), this is credible.
Looking at the photos on the link, Beacon Hill looks pretty much like I imagined Stoatshead Hill to be.
I'm glad to see they're using some more fantastic locations, I really like how PoA had more scenery shots in it- something I always vividly imagine when reading the books because Jo paints the picture so well...

Good for Russell Brown, to be able to see the filming of the anticipated series such as Harry Potter like that. I am seeing the pictures right now, they seem bare, but perhaps, with the proper special effects, the details in the book will be added.

Wow. I would love to watch them film a scene. I would stand there all day but then I'd also probably start cheering or something else annoying and get sent away. I can't wait to see the world Cup scene(s). And I wonder what Cedric's father looks like. Anyone have a picture? I can't wait till the movie!

That's really lucky for that guy to have found the film crew on the outskirts of his village filming it. That would have been really cool to see in person too.

I sort of did a double take when I read this headline...I was like "Beacon Hill? I was just there!" But then I was like "In the UK you idiot!" It's cool that the scene is in the movie. I'm glad they aren't just gonna pop up out of nowhere at the cup!

Ohh! Yay! That part is being filmed. That means that if it's not in the movie, it'll at least be included with the deleted scenes on the DVD! :D

Cool, cool. It's going to be interesting to put all of the scenes that locals stumble upon together to figure out what will be in the film and what didn't make it into the script, well in advance of the movie coming out. I'm a little afraid that things could still end up on the cutting room floor. But, I agree, introducing the portkey during the Quiddich World Cup is very important to the climax of the story, so it is very likely this scene will make the final cut.
As for stumbling upon a set, how does that happen?! I know that in my city it's pretty well advertised when a film crew will be shooting here. I think it's required by the mayor that signs are posted at the site, etc. At least, they put up a heck of a lot of "no parking" signs! Anyway, lucky day for the Beacon Hill resident, I guess!

That;s really good, I can only hope that this movie will be a lot better than the last. But my expectations aren't that high, so at least this time I won't be dissappointed.

That is too cool. I wonder why Daniel, Emma and Rupert would have to leave early. would it have killed them to stay that little bit longer. But i suppose they are still young and can't be working too long.

That would be a really good place to start the movie. I think that's going to be the opening scene-with them getting ready to leave in the dark early morning with Mrs. Weaseley waving at them.
I can't wait either!
