First scooped by fan site The Leaky Cauldron
, Warner Bros. today confirmed
that Miranda Richardson
and Ralph Fiennes
have been cast as Rita Skeeter and Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Ralph Fiennes (Red Dragon, Maid in Manhattan, Schindler's List) and Miranda Richardson (The Hours, Sleepy Hollow, The Crying Game) have joined the all-star cast of Warner Bros. Pictures' Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter novel series. Fiennes will play Harry Potter's nemesis, the evil Lord Voldemort, and Richardson takes on the role of muckraking journalist Rita Skeeter.
Previously cast as Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Mad-Eye Moody is Irish actor Brendan Gleeson, who can currently be seen in M. Night Shyamalan's latest film, The Village. CBBC Newsround also points out that Richardson played Hermione
for Comic Relief.

I just finished re-reading POA and saw it in the movies 5 times, twice in the IMAX in New York city and now I am part way through re-reading the Goblet of Fire, and I loved it the first time I read it and I am loving it the second time around, but the cast looks like it is going to be really good. I can't wait until the movie comes out. I would not have guessed Ralph Fiennes but hey time will tell!

Oh that's great. at last they had confirmed about Fiennes being Lord Voldemort, i think he'll do a good job. (he looks scary in the picture above)So now, there's Voldemort, the cast is 99% complete. And about Richardson playing Hermione in Comic relief, i never knew that. It's wicked! That only proves that she has the right to be in a HP movie. Congratulations to both!

I have read the stories and I would like to congratulate them both. When I looked at the picture of Miranda in Gryffindor uniform as Hermione, she looked a lot like Emma, only a little older. As for Fiennes, the eyes said it all. Ralph Fiennes is He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

Fiennes is an extraordinary actor. I mean they forgot to mention he won the Oscar for leading role in English Patient which was awesome! The movie also won the Oscar that year. Miranda is great too. Good choices. I do hope this one is better than PoA and returns to the good HP days.
