, Warner Bros. today confirmed that Miranda Richardson and Ralph Fiennes have been cast as Rita Skeeter and Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Ralph Fiennes (Red Dragon, Maid in Manhattan, Schindler's List) and Miranda Richardson (The Hours, Sleepy Hollow, The Crying Game) have joined the all-star cast of Warner Bros. Pictures' Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter novel series. Fiennes will play Harry Potter's nemesis, the evil Lord Voldemort, and Richardson takes on the role of muckraking journalist Rita Skeeter.
Previously cast as Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Mad-Eye Moody is Irish actor Brendan Gleeson, who can currently be seen in M. Night Shyamalan's latest film, The Village. CBBC Newsround also points out that Richardson played Hermione for Comic Relief.

I'm glad so many great actors/actresses are going to be in the future HP movies, but don't you think Voldemort should look a bit more frightening? Well who knows, the makeup and prop people will propbably be able to make him look a lot different.

I just want Rita Skeeter to be how i envisioned, being a reporter myself she's one of my favorite characters, even if she is evil.

Oh, that's great! I didn't know (or didn't probably remember) Miranda Richardson before HPANA's post about her, but since I read it, watched her pictures and gathered info about her I wanted her passionately to be Rita Skeeter!
Ralph is a brilliant actor. Not one of my favourites, though, but I really respect him and believe he will be perfect.

Very cool. I was bit skeptical of Ralph Fiennes at first - I didn't think someone who'd played J. Lo's love interest would make a very good Voldemort. But I've seen him in Schindler's List, and I hear he played a villian in Red Dragon, so I'm warming up to him. And though I've never seen Miranda in anything, I think she looks the part. Overall, I'm satisfied. I can't wait for this movie!

That is so awesome! I bet Ralph Fiennes will do really good, I thought he did well in Maid in Manhattan. It will be interesting to see him do a character like Voldemort. Miranda Richardson looks like she is going to fit the part of Miss Rita very well. I have never seen her act before, but I bet she will do awesome!

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Excitement! Ralph Fiennes is AWESOME! I can't wait to see him as Lord Voldemort! He did an excellent job in Red Dragon, so I'm sure he'll be fantastic as Voldemort. I agree though...it will be strange that Voldemort will be...sexy. Not complaining though ;) I mean, if you think about it, "Tom Riddle" was hawt, so it makes sense ;)
I saw Miranda in Sleepy Hollow and she was quite good. I can already picture her as Rita :)
