, Warner Bros. today confirmed that Miranda Richardson and Ralph Fiennes have been cast as Rita Skeeter and Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Ralph Fiennes (Red Dragon, Maid in Manhattan, Schindler's List) and Miranda Richardson (The Hours, Sleepy Hollow, The Crying Game) have joined the all-star cast of Warner Bros. Pictures' Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter novel series. Fiennes will play Harry Potter's nemesis, the evil Lord Voldemort, and Richardson takes on the role of muckraking journalist Rita Skeeter.
Previously cast as Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Mad-Eye Moody is Irish actor Brendan Gleeson, who can currently be seen in M. Night Shyamalan's latest film, The Village. CBBC Newsround also points out that Richardson played Hermione for Comic Relief.

I think that they both will be perfect for the parts. They are exactly as i pictured them. Miranda Richardson looks perfect as a nosy reporter. All she needs are rita's galsses. Ralph Fiennes looks like the kind of loner type who would be really good at voldemort. Also he kind of looks like an older version of the actor that played tom riddle...except for the hair.

Wow! That's awesome.I saw Ralph Fiennes in Red Dragon and he have what they need of a mysterious guy.He trapped himself in a bubble of darkness perfectly needed to the Lord Voldemort character.I like him and so Miranda is really cool,well I haven't seen all her movies yet but closely,ha ha ha.

Uh... I really wonder how they're going to make Fiennes look like Voldemort. When I first saw his pic, I didn't think he really looked the part though.... But i think he'll do ok. And my friend has seen Sleepy Hollow, so I'll ask her about Rita.

Mech, I don't know if I want Ralph to be Voldemort. I just don't think "Voldemort" when I say his name. Granted, I don't know who I would choose, but not him.
I am, however, delighted at Richardson's casting. I loved her Mab. She'll be able to play the part well I think. She has a lot of range as an actor. Heck, she had me convinced she was from Texas in "The Evening Star" when she was Patsy.

I think both are excellent choices. I think the casting people have thought long and hard about who should play these parts and their work so far has been spot on. This should be a great movie! Not too much word on Nichols though and how people feel about his take on directing GoF.

It's about time this was confirmed! I know Richardson will pull off a great Rita, but I'm not sure about Fiennes... He supposedly pulled off a good psycho villain in Red Dragon, but I dunno, it’s sketchy.
