The way she give just enough information away to make you wonder about other things is amazing to me. She's a true writer. I really wish I could have been there, that would have been amazing.

Interesting that DD's brother is the barman. I wonder how often DD goes in there. ;)
And it's nice that we know that Harry will live to see his seventh year at Hogwarts, but what about his friends? And Neville? I love Neville, but I'm 100% convinced he'll die. I can see him taking on Bellatrix Lestrange as revenge for his parents.
And I'm glad that Grawp will be making a return in the 6th book.
Now to make theories about her questions...

Wow that was an awesome interview, she really told us a lot! i agree with everyone that Dumbledore didn't kill Voldermort because of the prophecy and how Harry is the only one who can destroy him, but i have a feeling theres more to it then that. And i have some suspicion that "the steps" Voldermort took to ensure he didn't die have something to do with time travel. I feel like time travel was introduced in book 3 and its gonna turn up again.
PS- i REALLY hope Harry doesn't die at the end of book 7. i don't care how good or suitable an ending it is, it would just leave me heartbroken. I don't thik thats how it will end anyway. It just wouldn't be the best ending. We'll see though.

I KNEW THAT THE BARMAN WAS ABERFORTH!!!!! YES!!! I'm glad Harry will not die, but I didn't really think he would. I wonder why Voldy didn't die at the start? I never thought of that. Perhaps because Harry didn't have a wand? Hmmm...

It is nice to hear that she is halfway through. ALthough, I thought we had heard a report that the first draft has been turned into her publisher over the holidays last year. I guess I don't understand the creative process when it comes to writing a book! I want to read HBP now!
It is a good thing Harry makes it through HBP into book 7. I wonder how his friends will fare...

The little tid-bits just make the wait worse.
So if JKR is halfway through, does that mean she is halfway through the whole process or the first draft?

mr. peloponnese says:
Oh oh! That's load of information!
Aberforth Dumbledore is the barman in the Hog's Head->that's queer. Is that before? or now?(in Book 6)
Dumbledore's patronus is a phoenix->that's not really suprising, because of Fawkes.
Grawp will be more controllable in the sixth book->that's good, especially for Harry and Hermione..:)
We will see a bit more of Rita Skeeter->yeah, her life seems so mysterious. bet she's a good girl before...or maybe she's a squib..
There will be a new character called McLagan->maybe this is the HBP..or Harry's new admirer or maybe villain..
Harry does NOT have a godmother->what does that mean?! James don't have a mum? or Lily?
Why didn't Dumbledore try to kill Voldemort in that scene at the end of book five?->this question is REALLY interesting...

Okay we have more questions to ponder until HBP comes out. I'm going to have to start thinking about the questions and I don't think they can be answered with the obvious answers.

Madame Rosemerta says:
peloponnesian league, good observation...however, JKR said that Harry didn't have a GODmother, not a grandmother. That means that Lily and James didn't appoint anyone to be Harry's godmother when they appointed Sirius to be his godfather. It doesn't have anything to do with Harry's grandparents.
I'm so excited to get back from vacation to see this announcement. The part where JKR says that Harry will survive TO book seven doesn't mean that he will survive IN book seven. It means that he will survive through book six at least. That "to" is pretty important, I think. I also liked that JKR gave us some questions to ponder. I think that the reason that Lord Voldemort didn't die when he tried to kill Harry was because he ended up giving some of his soul to Harry connecting them together. This is also why Dumbledore didn't try to kill Voldemort- because he and Harry's souls are connected and he would've killed Harry if he would've killed Voldemort. Maybe only Harry can kill Voldemort and retain the part of HIS soul that's inside Voldemort. Just a thought....

Oooh, the hint about Harry surviving to book seven (but - so to speak - not through book seven) made me fear she might let him die in the end, but I think she only chose her words carefully in order to not give too much away. Hopefully...
