JK Rowling attended the Edinburgh International Book Festival today and gave fans some interesting tidbits about the future Potter books as well as the status of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. There was no announcement about the publication date.

According to BBC News Rowling told those gathered that:
Harry would "survive to book seven" but refused to confirm whether he would grow up to be a wizard.

That was cool about Petunia I've heard that someone will discover magic later on in life and I think that it will be Petunia. I knew Harry would live to the 7th book how could it be the 7th book in Harry Potter series without HArry Potter.

Maybe that's the answer for harry not having a godmother :)! Yes teh prophecy explians it well but I can't picture Dumbledore killing someone can you? And if Dumbledore's brother is the hog's head barman why hasn't him visited him before?
It seems to me that this is a last minute make-up of events.

But we still don't know if he is going to die, or somehow unwizard himself. Does anyone know where to find a transcript of the Q & A? Did JKR say she was "halfway" through the book... or "over halfway." That makes a definate difference. Also, could she possibly mean EDITING. Maybe it is just wishful thinking but if she said "over halfway" that could mean the last page and if she is in the editing phase, well then the publishers will have it by Septmember and there is still a chance for a december release... hmm... maybe i am just much too optotmistic for my own good...

Hey Waddi Wasi, she said his PATRONUS was a phoenix, NOT animagus. I dont think Dumbledore is an animagus.
