Many fans awoke today to news that Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling had taken down the "Do Not Disturb" sign once again on a door at her official site
.
At first it appears to be an empty room, but there's a bit more to it than that, and the prize is certainly worth the trouble. Here are step-by-step instructions for those who can't be bothered to figure it out on their own:
Highlight the following block of text to read the excerpt here: He looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp.
Thanks to everyone who let us know!

It is becoming increasingly more difficult to wait for the next book. This excerpt is a tease. I have no idea who it could be, but I am guessing that it is the half blood prince.

Wow thats great that we got to read a description of a new character from HBP. I'm thinking the person could be many people. The first person that came to mind was McLagan. But then, i do agree with the people that are saying he could be dumbledore's brother, or the new DADA teacher. Can't wait for book 6 to find out.

I wonder if it is describing someone Harry is dreaming about, not necessarily someone he will even meet, like Frank in GoF?

I though she wasn't introducing any new characters! How do we know this isn't someone who's been there all along, like, in disguise? Eh??

I know this question has probably been posted several times already, but how exactly do you open the door? The sign is gone for me, but I can't get the door itself to open. Am I too late?

Interesting. Wonder who this refers to? He sounds like a really evil guy. He reminds me of the Mad-Eye in GoF. But I couldn't even get into the room because the note was hidden by another note.

Soooooo Cooooolll!!!
And a pat on the back for those of you who found out how to open the safe. I could never have figured that out.
I wonder what the excerpt means. I think it might be the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.
What do you all think?

As a side note, Madame Hooch's eyes are tawney yellow in color as well...perhaps yellow eyes have some sort of special significance in the wizarding world? Maybe this character is a relative of hers, or perhaps they simply reflect whatever animal is closest in personality to themselves (Madame Hooch being similar in many respects to a hawk or falcon...both of which can have yellow eyes.)

The Veil says:
It said something along the lines of 'he looked sort of like a lion.' so my guess is that he is the heir of Griffindor (JUST A GUESS! DON'T CLOBBER ME!).
He can't be griffindor himself because it said he was limping, dead guys don't limp. also, I got the impresion of it being a person, not a portrat if that's what some of you are thinking.
