Alfonso Cuarón, director of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was quoted at the recent DVD launch party as saying that he would love to come back to director another Harry Potter.

Later on if I could I would love to come back and work on another Harry Potter film. It's a gift, it's a gift. It was one of the best years of my life, doing this film.
A reporter then asked him about his experience working with children:
I don't think they would appreciate you calling them children! They are teenagers, they are young adults, maybe. It's fantastic. They're amazing. It's an amazing group of actors. At this point they are such experienced actors, they are ... interacting with some of the best actors in life.
And on another note Variety is reporting that Cuarón has signed a three-year, first-look production deal with Warner Brothers.
Jeff Robinov from Warner Bros. had this to say:
We had a wonderful experience with Alfonso on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and have been long-time admirers of his work. His deal will give us the opportunity to collaborate with Alfonso on movies that make the most of his artistry and vision and continue to offer him the mainstream worldwide audiences that our studio provides so successfully.
Does that mean we can hope to see Alfonso directing another Potter movie in the near future?

I really didn't like him at first(before I saw PoA) then I saw the movie and I was really impressed! I sure wouldn't mind if he came back to do another Harry Potter film!

I think it would be good... it seems to work better sometimes when certain movies that are sequels or prequels have the same director, otherwise it doesnt feel like it should....

He odviously had a better understanding of the books. Columbus just thought of it as a kiddy movie. Cauron understood the darkness.

Though Cuaron is a genius director, he is not for Harry Potter. It is a fantasy, and PoA was way to grounded for its genre. We are in real life, why watch things exactly like it? (Also, I do not think Hermoines apparel was realistic for her character, being more of a book worm, nor the way she acted.) He (Cuaron) allowed the actors to bend the characters into themselves, instead of the other way, of the actors growing into the character. Now if we could get Peter Jackson..... complete ecstasy... one could always hope.

OH SHUT UP!!! I hate you ALL. All of you who hate Cuaron. Cuaron DID NOT ruin the film... It did have the same story line. a GREAT script. Jo and Columbus DID really really apreciated the work he's done. He didnt ignore the book too. No book= to MNO PoA movie... He did a great job and I applaud him. So whatever your negative opinions are... shut up about them okay... WHOS WITH ME???

I would like it if he could do that one If he did i would just like it to be a little slower paced. I know they have to work around a time limit and stuff, but who cares, make it 5hrs long if you have to.

Well I have mixed feelings about Cauron directing another movie. I loved PoA, but he did leave certain stuff out that left people confused. I had many people who were not as familiar with the whole story that kept asking questions throughout and after the movie, because they were confused. It left information out that I feel should have been left in. Visually it was great. I loved the atmosphere of the movie. I just wish it would have been longer and explained a little more like the book does. So I guess, if he didn't cut it so short the next time and followed the book a little more it would be great to have him back.

FYI people even though you've heard this before, Of course they're gonna leave things out. You really cant expect the movie to be 3 or 4 hours long. They did that to LOTR and I don't watch LOTR.
I really hope he gets to film another movie because Cuaron was my favorite director. And I love how he added humor into the movie while maintaining its very "dark" presence.
