Rarely does my heart ever stop (since I'd be dead), but it skipped a beat this morning when I received a phone call and e-mail telling me HPANA was selected as JK Rowling's newest "Fan Site Award" winner
on her official web site.
Rowling says of HPANA:
I'm humbled and proud beyond words, and would be remiss not to give thanks to the wonderful people who helped create, work on, and contribute to this little site that has grown so much in just two years: So, to Geri and Scott, and forum moderators Natalie, Lamar, Marc, Kendra and Renee, and all our alumni/previous staff members: Great work, congratulations and thank you for your dedication to making HPANA worthy of such an incredible distinction from the author of Harry Potter herself.
I think I speak for all of us when I say we have much to live up to and will continue to do our best. Thank you, Jo, from the bottom of my heart!

Congratulations! I am so happy HPANA was recognized by Jo herself. I agree with her compliments of the site and found it far more useful and entertaining than I had ever imagined when I first visited it last year. I guess that's why it is now my Home page so I can stay up to date every time I load my browser. Congrats to all of you who make this such a great community for Harry Potter fans!!

Congratulations Jeff and all of the moderators! I cannot say with words how delighted and proud I am that HPANA finally attained the Fan-Site award from J.K. Rowling that it definitely deserves. The amount of toilsome work you put into the site, how friendly you've been to all the members, how organized you maintain the site -- basically everything about the site -- justifies this. I agree wholeheartedly with J.K. Rowling that HPANA is one of the most incredible, most unique, most compelling, most user-friendly, most creative of all the fan-sites imaginable.
I can tell that all of HPANA is going to be bubbling with pride over the next few days as a result of this.
I must wonder, having been reassured that HPANA rests among the top sites in the fandom that she visits, whether she even went so far as to register as a member here. If she did, I must say that I would be deeply flattered to have possibly been in contact with her. ;)

It's super that Jo has discovered the greatness of HPANA, something that we Muggles have known all along! I enjoy all Harry Potter fan sites, but I could NOT survive without HPANA. HPANA is the only place to get up to the second news, and I check the site, oh, about 20 times a day. HPANA is also set as my homepage on every browser I use.
