Miranda Richardson as Rita Skeeter in 'Goblet of Fire' Popular (45373)

The current issue of Premiere magazine has published the first picture we’ve seen of Miranda Richardsonopens in new windowin costume as Rita Skeeteropens in new window from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire which is currently filming.

According to the articleopens in new window courtesy of MuggleNet:

Another year at Hogwarts, another director charge. As the first Englishman to direct a Potter flick, Mike Newell brings his own school days to bear as Harry faces not only his own fire-breathing dragons in the Triwizard Tournament but also his greatest challenge yet - the resurrection of Voldemort.

"This story is about the return of the being of evil," says Newell. "Harry is the vital ingredient for the potion which will bring Voldemort back." Like He-Who-Must Not-Be-Named, Daily Prophet hack Rita Skeeter makes her first appearance in this fourth installment of the series.

"She's completely brash and completely hateful," says Richardson, who likens Skeeter to 1930s gossip queen Hedda Hopper. "She's written the deal before she even gets there, really."

Awesome, I do hope though that she is up to scratch, I'd hate to see someone not playing her right! hehehe, thats only because she's a hard character to play and well also a very "prominant" or raher anoying character who is also important.

Looking at the pictures though she is very similar to what I thought of but really, I thougt she was more of a plumper lady, but then thats what I imagined her as. After all, the characters in the film have been over looked by JK rowling, (hopefully).

I'll agree on Richardson on that one, Rita is positively hateful. I'm very anxious to see how Newell does with the rebirthing of Voldemort, and will be critiquing him constantly when I see the film, just like the rest of them.

Look at her - perfect! I always pictured her a younger, though. Not like she is OLD or anything, but now that I think on it, when Harry goes back in the pensieve, he sees her younger at those Death Eater trials, so she CAN'T be too young. Glad they thought it out better than I obviously did, hahaha.

Miranda doen't look anything like I imagined Rita Skeeter. No one could accuse her of being square-jawed, those girls are more messy than rlaborate and stiff and those glasses are not jeweled or winged. However, I do have the utmost faith in Miranda's talents as an actor and I am sure she will make her audience believe, regardless of her appearance.
