The current issue of Premiere magazine has published the first picture we’ve seen of Miranda Richardson
in costume as Rita Skeeter from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire which is currently filming.

Another year at Hogwarts, another director charge. As the first Englishman to direct a Potter flick, Mike Newell brings his own school days to bear as Harry faces not only his own fire-breathing dragons in the Triwizard Tournament but also his greatest challenge yet - the resurrection of Voldemort.
"This story is about the return of the being of evil," says Newell. "Harry is the vital ingredient for the potion which will bring Voldemort back." Like He-Who-Must Not-Be-Named, Daily Prophet hack Rita Skeeter makes her first appearance in this fourth installment of the series.
"She's completely brash and completely hateful," says Richardson, who likens Skeeter to 1930s gossip queen Hedda Hopper. "She's written the deal before she even gets there, really."

Oh my God! She was in Phantom of the Opera, which is excellent i think you should all go and see it and if its not in theatres where you live well that is sad. She will be really good im sure, i cant wait to see it and did anyone else notice that on Yahoo movies Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the #1 film of 2004!!! Yipee

I dont know what it is, but that's not how i imagined her. i think its the blonde hair, i thought she was a brunette. oh well i see where the harry and hermione are wearin the same clothes from the other pictures that were shown to us recently. hopefully they'll have more soon!

I've just recently found out about Miranda Richardson from the movie: The Prince and Me. As soon as I saw her, I was like. She should play Rita Keeter in Hp4. Now she is. 3 out of 4 people. That I thought should play a certain part. Has gotten their part.
Hugh Grant didnt get Gilderoy.

She doesn't exactly look like who I pictured as the new Rita, but it's fine! I imagined dark hair and a little younger, plus a little more curves. But still, it's awesome. And I see that the contestants probably have a uniform for whichever school they're from. Pretty neat. But where are they in the picture that this shows?

She looks so different than her role in Phantom! I can't get over it -- though the same can be said for Emma Thompson as Proff Trewlany.
I think that she will fit the role well, and I agree that she looks the part. After rereading GoF, and then seeing Phantom of the Opera, I can see her in the role much better than anyone else.

Hmmm... the curls look like I imagined her - but I thought she had RED hair?!?!?!
...and the glasses are too nice/cool looking... I thought she had horrid cat's eye glasses with like rhinestones in them...(I imagined them to be turquoise)... and a horrid acid-green QuickQuotesQuill and parchment with her always (so she can mis-quote Harry...)
Oh well...All the other characters have looked like imagined they did - I guess they can't get everybody to look like the book characters. Darn.

Interesting, I never saw Rita as a bleach blond, a blond yes, but not a bleached blond.... She lookes close to what I imagined. Most certianly interesting. I can't wait for the movie.
To be truthful I can't recall who she is exactly from Sleepy Hollow, it's the only movie of hers I have seen besides Chicken Run, and the Phantom of The Opera hasn't come out yet where I live... So I must wait for that aswell... Well Still, I'm glad that they kept Rita, She may give all us Ritas a bad name. Especialy all of us who work on newspapers, but I still like her character.
