Director Garth Jennings reportedly told BBC Radio 1 just a few days ago that Rickman was to be the voice of Marvin the Android. Davis was confirmed earlier as the actor who will operate Marvin's robotic costume.
In the books, Marvin is a paranoid, terribly sarcastic character who is woefully unconcerned with the world around him. Rickman's casting has not been officially confirmed or announced (we'll keep you posted).

I just saw a trailer for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and I know there are some fans of the series on HPAN*A. The cast sounded great from what I've seen and Alan and Warwick will be a great addition. I find their connections to both HP and this project a bit of an odd coincidence.

Rickman as the *voiceover* of Marvin the Paranoid Android and Davis inside the costume of Marvin - should be intriguing. I was figuring either Rickman or Tim Curry as Marvin's voice would be best.
For those who have not read Hitchhiker's *shakes head sadly* ... get thee to the library now! All the books are thoroughly worth it!

wow this is brillant! i love Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Alan Rickman is SOOOOOOOOO cool. He plays Snape so well it's untrue! I love Marvin too, he has such a bleak outlook on life it is untrue. Both Harry Potter and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy are brillant reads

Well that's good for both of them to be doing something other than Harry Potter once in a while. As long as it doesn't delay the movie I'm fine with it. Though, I have never heard of this book. I wonder if it's any good. All the people here are saying it is good....Maybe I should go check it out from the library.....

I've never seen a picture of Warwick Davis out of costume before. He seems soooooo much different than Flitwick, as far as looks go.
