A web site purporting to offer electronic versions of all five Harry Potter novels by JK Rowling, including the unreleased sixth book, has sprung up and is advertising online to fans through search engines and ad-supported sites like HPANA. We have received numerous e-mails about this issue in the past several days.
DO NOT place any orders with a site claiming to sell such rubbish. It should be noted that there are no authorized electronic text versions of the Potter books, period. The sixth, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is to be released July 16.
The Leaky Cauldron reported
yesterday that after submitting an order on the site -- which will remain unnamed -- a message was returned stating that credit card processing was unsuccessful (after card numbers were already collected and presumably stored).
HPANA has contacted the site's web host to inform them of the illegal nature of their client's site. Rowling and/or her representatives have no doubt already been alerted to the situation. It's highly likely we'll hear something official very soon, in the form of a message from Jo on her web site
, or through one of her representatives.
UPDATE: According to BBC News
the web site in question has been closed down.

No, Elijah wasn't dating Kate Bosworth. Sean Astin was married to her. And did they break up? I hate to hear that. Their little girl was in the movie, you know. It's worse than Brad and Jen....
Elijah is dating the Scottish dancer, I believe. And I didn't know he was in the Good Son. I do know that Billy Boyd was in The Goonies....

Dom better stay away from Liv Tyler. I know that she is pretty and all, but just because they make one movie together . . . sheesh!
And Bam needs to stay away from Johnny Depp, that is all I have to say about that!

Some people are so mean. We might see it and get our hopes up of getting the books then they go and steal our money it is not nice. I've decided by now to only buy them in shops so there should be no chance of getting my money stolen.

That is terrible! I hope they are caught soon. Hopefully they didn't scam a lot of people..but they probably did since people will do anything for more HP. People that do stuff like that just give Harry Potter and all his fans a bad name.

I hope no one believed that because JK Rowling would never allow anything like that to happen. She wants us all to be wow-ed and amazed at the same time.

If those scam-artists think their tricks work...They're probably right because although there are loyal and smart Harry Potter fans some may not be so loyal and/or smart so they (the id10ts that they are) fall for these pathetic attempts to gain money out of pure selfish and greedy ways.
