In an interview with British newspaper The Express, Julie Walters
(Mrs. Weasley) from the Harry Potter movies confirms
that she will not be making an appearance in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Ms. Walters discusses her feelings about not being in the movie:
To be honest, I was a bit hurt not to be in it. The kids love the Harry Potter films so much and I get lots of mail about it. I can understand why they've had to pare down the film as the book is so long but I am really hoping I'll be in again for the next one.

I love Julie Walters as Mrs. Weasley! But I do understand because they DO have to cut out a lot...she is one of the most beloved characters in the HP series but she doesn't play a CRUCIAL role in HP4. BUT she will definitely show up in HP5 because she is in the OotP.

That's a shame because I love Mrs. Weasley. I'm sure she'll be back for the next one though. She is in the Order after all.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Mrs. Weasley is awesome though! All the Wealseys are cool and all of them deserve to be in all the movies! At least they can put her in for one or two lines.
At least she's somewhat ok with it. I would hate it if I was cut and stuff.
BRING HER BACKKKKKKKKKKKK! please! please! please! please! please! please!
All the Weasleys are cool. Bring her back. Bring all of them back. I wonder how they're gonna do it, without Mrs. Weasley and all. She plays a bigger role here than the rest of the movie and she is the butt of jokes. It's just way too bad.

I'm really dissapointed I really like mrs Weasly she adds colour and characture to the movies, I feel she is very importiant, because she's a mother figure in harry's life and as we know she loves him like a son.

There's no GoF without Mrs. Weasly worrying about her children! It sets up the drama, the realism.

How could they cut Mrs. Weasley? They can't cut her from the next one, it wouldn't be right at all! *sigh* I guess they did have to cut some stuff, but I still wish they hadn't cut her...

Mrs. Weasley is essential to the HP books / movies!!! She is a mother figure for Harry. I think it is totally unfair that she isn't in the movie - she is a great actress! Bring her back for the next movie!!!!

Yeah, I had a feeling Mrs. Weasley would be the next to be "Percy'd" out of GoF! I think they think it's good enough to just refer to her in the film, but....we'll be the judge of that!
I am glad Julie Walters isn't upset and is looking forward to being asked to be in OotP, as she is fabulous and Mrs. Weasley should definitely not be absent from OotP!

I would rather have most of the scenes in the movie and have 2 movies, or a 3 hour movie like LOTR, than have a shortened bad versoin of the movie. Those are my thoughts.

I must admit I was very sad to hear this confirmed. The Burrough scenes are some of the funniest and I love the entire Weasley family (the actors that portray them are superb). I really wanted to see the older brothers too. I hope the movie as a whole makes up for the loss of the Weasley family. I thought maybe at a challenge or too they'd be there but no use crying over spilled milk I suppose.
I better not hear they won't be in OotP though - way too many meetings (and other situations) for them to not be involved in that film. Do you hear me David Yates? *smile* Not like I can do anything about it though so I guess I'll savor what I get and cherish the books even more because there, the Weasley family will always be.

That is really dissapointing. I can understand though because she didn't have a very large role in GoF, but it was the firt time all of the Weasley's were all together at the same time. OH well, hopefully better luck for the next film. I can't see her being cut out of that one.

Thats horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Arghhhh!!!!!!! I hate how they change the books so much. The part in the hospital wing at the end with Molly and Harry was so important, and so touching. I cannot belive they cut it and her. Just to save a buck or a few minutes. Geeze! Okay, I've ranted enough for one post.

this, i believe, is the first time i have ever ( and i mean ever) felt any anger towards the making of the movie. i love every single character in the movie (even the guys and gals with no lines) and mrs. weasley is just as important to me as Harry is. Yes, i've even gotten attatched to you-know-who because without him, where would the story be? I hope to Dumbledore that this never happens again.

Oh pickles, that's horrible. I love Mrs. Weasley. She is such a nice character. I suppose they had to snip a few old characters for the appearance of new characters, though. It'll be a bloody shame not having her in it, but it will be a great movie all the same. I remember reading GOF for the first time in 6th grade. I just couldn't put it down. I love all the HP movies so far, so hopefully this one should be totally wicked. I'm over and out. Oh yeah, Rupert rocks.

The more I read about this film getting cut the more mad I get. Why can they make 3 or 4 hour long crap like Pearl Harbor, but they can't make a 3 or 4 hour Potter film? That's jst bulls**t. Big, steaming piles of it.

That is so surprising! I love the part where Mrs. Weasley and her son come visit Harry when all the parents are visiting the Triwizard candidates. It was so touching! That makes me really sad. I hope the movie lives up to the book, it's my favorite.
