In an interview with British newspaper The Express, Julie Walters
(Mrs. Weasley) from the Harry Potter movies confirms
that she will not be making an appearance in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Ms. Walters discusses her feelings about not being in the movie:
To be honest, I was a bit hurt not to be in it. The kids love the Harry Potter films so much and I get lots of mail about it. I can understand why they've had to pare down the film as the book is so long but I am really hoping I'll be in again for the next one.

That is so surprising! I love the part where Mrs. Weasley and her son come visit Harry when all the parents are visiting the Triwizard candidates. It was so touching! That makes me really sad. I hope the movie lives up to the book, it's my favorite.

This is disappointing. Mrs. Weasley's has a very big presence in the book, although she didn't have a big role in POA I thought her presence in GOF would have been a bit less but instead she won't be in the movie. I also hope this doesn't grow as a trend in future movies with other characters.

Thats too bad for her. It looks like there arent going to be alot of people in this movie, the dursleys, mrs weasly, and percy. O well it is a very big book and there is only so much you can put in the movie.

Unbelievable! How long is JKR going to let Warner Brothers ruin these films. Look...these people, no matter how insignificant to the overall plot, are very important the the story as a whole. Leaving them out...especially Mrs. Weasley is a crock!

I can't believe she's not going to be in it! She makes the whole movie feel more familiy-ish. It's too bad that her part was cut from the movie...they should increase the length of the movie and add more parts in.

Ooooh. That's really too bad. Bad news. I really like Mrs. Weasley. I know that they have to trim down the 700+ page book, but she could have at least been in the crowd at the Tri-Wizard Tournement. She plays a bigger role in OoP, so I really hope she'll be in that one.

Aww, no Mrs. Weasley!? That's too bad- it's so silly to have one parent but not the other! How hard would it have been to get her in the movie??

What?!?!? No! No! NO! Ugh! It sucks that so much has to be cut in these films. Oh well, there's nothing we can do about it. But what about that emotional hug between her and harry at the end?!?!? ugh....

I wonder how the film will be like?? It will seem so strange to watch Harry Potter without one of the more familiar characters on board the set.

I'm really disappointed to know that Miss Weasley will not be in this movie! She plays such an important role during the end of the book. I understand that corners need to be cut, but she plays such an important role in harry's life. I think this is a bad decision. Hopefully, i'll like the movie.

Thats a shame. It really is. I love Mrs. Weasley and the way she cares so much for Harry. Too bad for her really but I really hope they dont see this as an opportunity to get rid of her character. She is way too important.

Yeah, this definitely makes me sad! I just bought (I think it was...) the Disney TV Guide or something because it had a short blurb on HP and the Goblet of Fire. In the article it mentioned that the part with the Dursleys was cut and I was very disappointed -- they're the characters everyone love to hate! And the actors do such a fantastic job of portraying them! But at least they should be in the next film, considering that I think whatever's going on between Dumbledore and Mrs. Weasley is going to turn out to be quite significant...

Thats such a shame, I like Mrs. Weasley. I realize she has such a small part in the book but her and Bill visiting with Harry in leiu of family is such a touching part, I also wouldn't mind seeing Ron and the twins squirm seeing mum at their school. She should be in OOTP though, that will be good....

She should NOT be cut. There are too many scenes with Mrs. Weasley that are impostant to Harry's emotional development. I'm seriously upset about this.
