In an interview with British newspaper The Express, Julie Walters
(Mrs. Weasley) from the Harry Potter movies confirms
that she will not be making an appearance in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Ms. Walters discusses her feelings about not being in the movie:
To be honest, I was a bit hurt not to be in it. The kids love the Harry Potter films so much and I get lots of mail about it. I can understand why they've had to pare down the film as the book is so long but I am really hoping I'll be in again for the next one.

This is upsetting. I thought she was important to the end. It forshadows Into OotP. But obviously Hollywood does not feel that way. They started upsetting me with the hacking to PoA I am affraid its only getting worse movie wise!

Oh NO! That's just not right! Now it ruins the whole start of the book! Did anyone else read the article? They're also cutting the Dursley's. What the he double hockey sticks is going on? It wouldn't have the right level of teen angst without them! And who'll give Harry the mothering he needs? AHHHHHHH! Say it ain't so!

I can't believe that. Mrs. Weasley is one of the very best characters! She's in several places in Goblet of Fire. It's so touching when she shows up as Harry's family for the Triwizard Tournament. If there is some sort of protest, please let us know.

No Mrs. Weasley?? That really stinks, she seems to protray a motherly figure for Harry. Don't worry Julie Walters will be back for OOTP. (I hope) I enjoyed her protrayal as Mrs. Weasley in the first three movies of the seven movie series!!

This is really disappointing. It looks like the scene before the third task will be cut, as well as a lot of the scenes at 12 Grimauld Place. Why can't they make 2 versions, like Lord of the Rings and put at least an hour of extra bits in the DVD? A 4 hour Harry Potter film would be extremely popular with the fans and lucrative for Warner Brothers.

She's been cut? Why?!? I loved the bit with her and Fed and George! And how she gets cross with Hermoine because of the Harry/Hermione/Krum triangle. I though she was one of the best casting out of the lot - she's exactly how I pictured Mrs Weasley in the book! Oh well, maybe next time...

How sad. I expected a possible cut of the Mr. Weasley and Mrs. Weasely roll but not cut out completely. Very disappointed.

I agree. No Mrs. Weasley is very disappointing. I truly believe that having the Weasleys there to support Harry before the final task was very important to the developing family dynamic sub-plot. I also agree that she and the whole Weasley family are too important to be left out of the fifth movie.

Hmph. Molly should turn them all, all, ALL into frogses or batses or goblinses for that. She seems to do quite a lot in GoF if I remember rightly! Cx

I loved her in the part for Mrs. Weasley, so this really hurts me! They can't just "take her out"! Give her just 2 minutes in the film, and many fans would be happy! 2 minutes? That can't make such i big deal?

WHAT?! I can't believe there is no Mrs. Weasley in this film! What are they thinking. One of the greatest scenes of the entire series is when she hugs Harry and he realizes that this is what if feels to be hugged by a mother! Also, you have to be honest...the comedic nature of her telling off the twins before the Quidditch World Cup and then the reconciliation afterwards...well...I think this is one time that they are just being stupid!

But Mrs. Weasley is a very important character...
I'm sure she'll be in the OotP movie, Harry has to go to visit Grimmauld's Place after all...
But I'll definitely miss her while watching GoF...

Well, I can't say that I am not disappointed...I think that Molly is a crucial part of GoF...what is Arthur without Molly???
There is so much information in the books and I know they have to cut it down. I just hope that they don't cut out what I feel was important storyline like they did in PoA.

I agree with Sassafras. One of the best scenes in GoF is definitely when Mrs. Weasley is happy that the twins are home after the quidditch match. I can't wait to see the quidditch match- quidditch is my favorite scenes in all of the movies!
