In an interview with British newspaper The Express, Julie Waltersopens in new window (Mrs. Weasley) from the Harry Potter movies confirmsopens in new window that she will not be making an appearance in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Ms. Walters discusses her feelings about not being in the movie:

To be honest, I was a bit hurt not to be in it. The kids love the Harry Potter films so much and I get lots of mail about it. I can understand why they've had to pare down the film as the book is so long but I am really hoping I'll be in again for the next one.

Emma's true fan and lover says:

That's bad news, Julie Walters portrayed Mrs Weasley really well and nobody will be able to play the part better than her.
I hope she reconsiders, if not I hope she comes back for the 5th movie, she'll have a bigger part to play then.
It would have been really nice to see her with Bill when she comes to see Harry in school before the third task.

at first thought, i can see why they took her out, they obviously can't put every detail into the movie that's in the book......hey waitaminute! what am i saying! she may have a small part, but it's important!! they can't cut her out! she plays an important part at the end of the book, she's all harry has to act like a mom for him. at the very least, mrs. weasly had better be in OotP, she does have a much larger part there....but that book is also quite a bit longer....all i'm saying is it's unfair and she better be there!!!!

That is pretty sad, I liked Mrs. Weasley in the movie because I think that she is a very important role of the movie. Very disappointed.

Awww, and she was hurt about it. :( I know they had to cut stuff out for the length, but I'd really be happier if all of the actors at least had a short appearance instead of just cutting them completely out.

It's really sad to know that most of the Weasley's won't be in GOF. I know that cuts had to be made in order to make a fairly short movie, but I really wish WB would have listened to their fans on this one. We want a longer movie!!!

Oh no! That's terrible. I hate it when they cut out characters. I really wanted Sean Biggerstaff in all of the movies too. It just wont be the same but I guess they have to do it. But atleast she'll be in the next one, she has to be, she plays such a big part. Well that's my reassuring thought for today anyway

Awww... That's really bad news. Every Harry Potter movie must have a Mrs. Weasley, how come this one doesnt have her? Its very shocking and sad news. I hope she make a bigger part in the OotP movie, then.

Oh, man! I really liked her! Its like, she's really part of the story even if she's not as important as Harry is...she keeps the movies and books "believable" in a way that kids should listen to their mothers, and how difficult life is, you know..but I hope we'll see her in OotP...

That really sucks, she is one of my favourite! Though, if they cut Oliver out of 3 and the Dursleys out of four - I guess she was "too much" for the film as well.Too bad. Whenever we watch Billy Elliot I can't help thinking she is going to just accidentally do some magic. She is a very talented actress and she better be in OotP.

I can't believe it. The WHOLE Weasley family plays a big part in the GOF. With the Quidditch world cup and all. That's really too bad, I really like the character of Mrs. Weasley, and Julie Walters is great for the part. I am going to miss her. She reminds me of my mother. In fact, the Weasley family reminds me of my own.

I want to know how they are going to make The Goblet of Fire without Mrs. Weasley, or the Dursleys... (I read the full article and I believe it said that the Dursleys had also been cut.) Are they going to completely leave out the scene with the Weasley's coming through the chimney?
