In an interview with British newspaper The Express, Julie Waltersopens in new window (Mrs. Weasley) from the Harry Potter movies confirmsopens in new window that she will not be making an appearance in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Ms. Walters discusses her feelings about not being in the movie:

To be honest, I was a bit hurt not to be in it. The kids love the Harry Potter films so much and I get lots of mail about it. I can understand why they've had to pare down the film as the book is so long but I am really hoping I'll be in again for the next one.

Man! They just won't quit taking things out! But maybe that is why I like the books so much better. Oh well. I am sure it will be a really good movie anyway... It just won't be as good as it could be. They should just make the movie longer and be done with it. People WILL watch a 4 hour movie, at least if it is Harry Potter. =)

Mrs Weasley is a huge part of GoF! Especially when she 'holds Harry like he's never been hugged before' (sorry I dont have my book with me!!!! I cant believe they've cut her out. The way Julie Walters plays her as well, she just makes me smile!!

WHAT!? I love Mrs. Weasley! They can't cut her! She is so important to the books, even if she doesn't have a huge part! I can't believe this! First Percy leaves, and then they cut out Molly Weasley! This is so wrong!!!!! Oh well... i just really hope they have her in the Order of the Pheonix! She has a much more prominate part in that book, they can't cut her out of that movie! They just can't!

This is an outrage! OK so Mrs. Weasley doesn't do anything REALLY important in the fourth book, but still, she's practically Harry's mother. At the rate this is going, in the seventh movie, there'll only be 10 characters in the whole movie. Okay, so this is an exaggeration, but you get my drift.

Aw, I like Mrs. Weasley. But I guess they have to do what is best for the film. However, if I was director, I think making it 3-4 hourse long would be best! Lord of the Rings did it, why not Harry Potter??? True Potter fans would stay the whole time, and with every second love it more and more. The truer to the book, the more detail, the better the movie.

That's horrible. How are they going to manage the last chapters without her? She is huge in The Parting of the Ways, I just don't see how they are going to do it.

Oh no! This does not sound good! :( In the book she gets them ready when they leave for the World Cup. And we know that it shows them walking to Stoatshead Hill. So how are they not going to show Mrs. Weasley when they leave the Burrow? Also she takes them to the station 9 3/4 and she comes to see Harry at the triwizard tournament! That means they are cutting a lot out. This is so dissapointing. Oh well I guess...I knew it would happen. :(

But she has to be in the OotP, because she has quite a big role in it and it's not normal to cut so many important events out of it.

Aaawww! What a pity! Julie Walters has to be in the Order of Phoenix at least, she plays a large role there. What will happen in the scene in GoF where Harry is visited by the Weasleys before and after the third task? The scene where Mrs. Weasley hugs Harry is one of the most moving in the book.
