In an interview with British newspaper The Express, Julie Walters
(Mrs. Weasley) from the Harry Potter movies confirms
that she will not be making an appearance in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Ms. Walters discusses her feelings about not being in the movie:
To be honest, I was a bit hurt not to be in it. The kids love the Harry Potter films so much and I get lots of mail about it. I can understand why they've had to pare down the film as the book is so long but I am really hoping I'll be in again for the next one.

That is a big disappointment, since she is so important to Harry when he recovers at the end after the resurrection. I am really surprised that they cut it.

Wow, they must be cutting off the whole beginning of the book! No Dursely's and no Mrs. Weasly. Is the opening scene going to be the World Cup?

I guess this means they won't be doing the "family comes to visit" Harry scene during the Tournament. I'll be sad not to see her.

What?! I love Mrs. Weasley! I was really looking forward to seeing her show up for the Tri-Wizard Tournament in place of Harry's family, and at her yelling at Sirius once she saw him in the hospital wing.
Oh well...

It's a bit dissapointing but truthfully if they were going to cut anything that and the Dursleys would have to be it. I mean, its such a long book compared to the others i wouldn't fancy being responsible for the cuts...

Wow, that sucks! Mrs. Weasley is easily one of my favourites... the way she's so motherly and always so nice to Harry... Whoever decided that one ought to be shot! Okay, so not really, but still!

Okay I am really starting to get concerned about how many of the cast it seems they are cutting for this next movie. I understand the book is very long, etc. But how can they justify cutting out most of the Weasley clan (I've read that Percy, Charlie, and the twins will not be in this film)? I mean, I still can't wait to see the movie, but now I'm worried that it will be a bigger disappointment than POA!

That is NOT fair! Mrs. Weasley should be in every movie known to man! How will people who haven't read the books get a sense that she is becoming like a mother figure to
Harry if she isn't in the movie? That is really disappointing. Does anyone want to start a petition?

No Mrs.Weasley. It seems that a lot of characters are being cut from the movie. It aslo seems that it may be a 2 hour movie. It looks right now like it may be another disappointment.

What were they thinking!! It's not Harry Potter with out ALL the Weasley's, and especially Mrs. Weasley! She's the matriarch of the family and she's like Harry's adopted mother! Well they HAVE to put her in OotP at least because she's a member of the order and plays a pretty big role in the 5th book! We're pulling for you Julia!
