In May 2004, the U.S. Army's official Preventive Maintenance Monthly, a cartoon magazine that instructs soldiers how to take care of their military equipment, published a humourous eight-page spoof of the Harry Potter world.
Army officials visit Mogmorts and learn from Professor Rumbledoore and his staff about proper maintenance techniques for magical gear, including brooms, wands and cauldrons (tip: "PM" in the cartoon stands for "preventive maintenance"):
Many thanks to Army weekend reservist Greg for sending us a copy last year, and sorry for taking so long to post!
UPDATE: This has now become the focus of a possible copyright infringement charge by JK Rowling's representatives and Warner Bros. against the U.S. Army. We'll keep you posted.

Well, I guess Harry Potter can be put to a practical use after all. I have to say I've never heard it used as a learning tool. :)

hye i think they will have some problems because to me it looks that the old version of hp, na i hope they did not do that intencionally... i like the name of profesor snappy intead of snape. he is a way funny , but no seriosly, they will have problems...and for those people: get another ideas form other thinks and not from the HP books.

I think its cool that they made such a witty satire off of Harry Potter, and I hope no legal action will be taken. Unfortunately, that's probably too much to ask for. But maybe they army should've known better.
