The Ron Weasley actor told French magazine One he has little desire to couple with Hermione Granger in upcoming Harry Potter movies.
"Everyone expects that Ron and Hermione will go out," said Rupert Grint, "but I don't think that would be an effective finish. I must say that this idea doesn't delight me... At the moment, I have no desire to play the romantic scenes. I already had a lot of trouble with certain scenes in Prisoner of Azkaban in which I had to hold Emma's hand, then be embarrassed."

Grint also discussed what he'd like to do outside of acting, how similar he and Ron are when it comes to finishing homework, and whether or not he'll be sticking around for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. A full translation can be seen on Veritaserum.
Rupert was also snapped by photographers outside a recent filming of British television show An Audience with Al Murray, for which several Weasley family members apparently appeared:

Finally, rounding out Rupert news, the actor is in negotiations to star in a new film, Driving Lessons, according to the Rod Hall Agency Ltd. and Actual Management. Veritaserum got confirmation from a representative, who said: "It is the early days but I can confirm we are in negotiations for Rupert to star in the movie, due to shoot later this year."

I know that the characters are probably going to end up dating in the next book - everything so far leads that way. I hope Rupert doesn't give up the role because of it!
I am glad to read that he is working on being in another film. It is always good to diversify... what worries me is that he will find other films more to his liking than the HP series and stop filming with WB.

The whole cast should definately stay for the series! Absolutely no one would care if they didn't look the exact age they're supposed to. But, I know a lot of fans will be mad if they're not back.

As for him not wanting to do romance scenes with Hermione(Emma), I think he should get over it because it seems that JKR has other plans for them doesn't it? He has some time to get used to it before the next few movies though if thats what is in the cards for them...

I'm an actress so i defeintly know how hard it is to do anything romanic towards someone you dont really like, in that way. So I will and do have symaphaty (sp?) for him. It could be good for him though. It still does shock me that he hasnt read the 5th book!! He needs to get busy!!

Im pretty sure that any romantic scenes wouldnt get very serious because these movies are PG-13 and they wouldnt set a bad example for the younger kids that watch. How silly of him. I hope he stays anyway, even if he does have to kiss Emma. He makes a great Ron and I hate it when half way through a series they change actors.

Ron and Hermione shouldn't be romanticly involved.
And as for the holding hands things.
I'd be embarassed too.
You are playing a person that you character may or may not like, and you yourself have to pretend like you may or may not like the other person too.
It would be uncomfortable because you don't really have a crush on the actor/actrice you are acting with, so I completely understand.
