The Ron Weasley actor told French magazine One he has little desire to couple with Hermione Granger in upcoming Harry Potter movies.
"Everyone expects that Ron and Hermione will go out," said Rupert Grint, "but I don't think that would be an effective finish. I must say that this idea doesn't delight me... At the moment, I have no desire to play the romantic scenes. I already had a lot of trouble with certain scenes in Prisoner of Azkaban in which I had to hold Emma's hand, then be embarrassed."

Grint also discussed what he'd like to do outside of acting, how similar he and Ron are when it comes to finishing homework, and whether or not he'll be sticking around for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. A full translation can be seen on Veritaserum.
Rupert was also snapped by photographers outside a recent filming of British television show An Audience with Al Murray, for which several Weasley family members apparently appeared:

Finally, rounding out Rupert news, the actor is in negotiations to star in a new film, Driving Lessons, according to the Rod Hall Agency Ltd. and Actual Management. Veritaserum got confirmation from a representative, who said: "It is the early days but I can confirm we are in negotiations for Rupert to star in the movie, due to shoot later this year."

I don't think JKR will alter her plans for the characters just because the actor balks at playing a scene... Rupert will be fine... that's why they call it 'acting'.

Yep, hes got it right there, it would be a little predictable for ron and hermione to get together, and i wouldnt envy him olaying romantic scenes either, even adults have hard times pulling them off convinceingly.
Realy hope he doesnt take up the new film, wont be right if he wasnt in the next hp films! *sniff*

I really want Ron and Hermione to be together, that would be the perfect ending for me. I hope he also is in OoTP, he is the only actor that can play Ron, he is the best!

But I swear, if they toss out the old trio I'm not only going to have a kineption (sp?) but I will no longer watch the movies to the extent I do now. Yeah I think that Rupert wil stay and the others will too. THe only one I have concerns about really is Draco (also known as) Tom Felton as he is aging very quickly (no offense) and is already a lot older then his character. However he might just get away with it. We'll have to see in Goblet of Fire. If Emma, Dan or Rupert (or any others for that matter) left it may spoil the films as they suit the parts perfectly and I personally wouldn't play Harry Potter instead of Dan as he is brill and I would feel paranoid all the time. Anyway Rupert is a brill actor and even voicer as he played the vioce of Peter Pan in the BBC series at Christmas or New year. It was fab!
