The Ron Weasley actor told French magazine One he has little desire to couple with Hermione Granger in upcoming Harry Potter movies.
"Everyone expects that Ron and Hermione will go out," said Rupert Grint, "but I don't think that would be an effective finish. I must say that this idea doesn't delight me... At the moment, I have no desire to play the romantic scenes. I already had a lot of trouble with certain scenes in Prisoner of Azkaban in which I had to hold Emma's hand, then be embarrassed."

Grint also discussed what he'd like to do outside of acting, how similar he and Ron are when it comes to finishing homework, and whether or not he'll be sticking around for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. A full translation can be seen on Veritaserum.
Rupert was also snapped by photographers outside a recent filming of British television show An Audience with Al Murray, for which several Weasley family members apparently appeared:

Finally, rounding out Rupert news, the actor is in negotiations to star in a new film, Driving Lessons, according to the Rod Hall Agency Ltd. and Actual Management. Veritaserum got confirmation from a representative, who said: "It is the early days but I can confirm we are in negotiations for Rupert to star in the movie, due to shoot later this year."

Personally, I don't think that he has a cootie complex about girls. I just think that it may be difficult for him to act "friendly" with a girl he's know for a long time. I'm sure acting romatically is difficult for anyone. I'm sure it's different behind the scenes when he's with a girl of his liking.

Poor Rupert, everyone laying into him over romance, just because he doesnt feel comfortable doesnt mean he'll not do it anyway. Anyways hopefully JK will be giving him a few years to get used to the idea... and perhaps with a new girl as Luna ;) hahaha

Im sooo glad that some of the young actors are starting to appear in other things. I think Rupert might have to start liking the romantic scenes because lots of people really want one with Ron and Hermione. Also i hope he stays for all the movies. It wouldn't be right if any of them left without filming them all.

I think Rupert will star in OotP, and i definatley think Hermione and Ron will go out! Is'nt it funny that Rupert has been the only one out of the trio that has starred in other films (Thunderpants, Driving lessons-maybe) but he gets the least media attention. I think he's great meself!
