The British
and American publishers of Harry Potter have posted the jacket covers for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The children's British versions by Jason Cockcroft, shows Harry and Dumbledore in rings of fire and the adult version is from a photograph by Michael Wildsmith showing a tattered book called Advanced Potion-Making.
The Scholastic cover by Mary GrandPré was debuted this morning on NBC's Today show (click for video!). On the American edition, Harry and Dumbledore are looking into what seems to be a pensive.

does dd reveal to harry who the hbp is? or more about his parents?
is snape the hbp? or does harry just suck at potions?

I'm really surprised that they are showing the book covers, if I recall correctly JK Rowling was very secretive with the last 5 books that we didn't find anything out until the VERY end! Don't get me wrong I think it's awesome that we know the REAL title and we get to see the book jackets!

That cover is really cool. However, in all of the previous covers there was a lot more going on. I hope maybe Ms. GrandPre will add more to it, but i suppose that might give some things away. I cant wait until they start showing maybe what the pictures for each chapter are.

The ONE WEEK that I refrain from going on here because I have all this homework and stuff has to be the one week that the HBP book covers come out! I have been DYING for the cover ever since I heard its title because a cover just really makes the book and also piques my interest-- what's it mean?? DD and Harry looking into a Pensieve?! Killing me here!
Anyway, I'm so happy to have seen it (I am a little hyper and sentimental because Spring Break has just started for me)and it was awesome to come on this site for the first time all week and see such a gift waiting for me.
K. Enough with the novel.
Oh wait, before I go:P- I love the Mary GrandPre version as usual. But that adult UK version is really really cool. Old books make me all tingly inside, for whatever reason.

I suppose this book will be about Harry and Dumbledore which does make sense now that I think about it. I wasn't too excited when I heard that the sixth book will be the color purple but this color is fine with me, including the cover. I thought the UK edition looked much cooler though but maybe the US edition cover gives more clues.
