With just over 100 days until the July 16 release of JK Rowling's Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, U.S. publisher Scholastic is preparing a multimillion dollar marketing blitz
to stir up excitement.
At the 50 day mark on May 27, Scholastic will ship 40,000 of these countdown clock standees (334KB JPG image) to bookstores.
The base theme message "Who Is The Half-Blood Prince?" will appear on airplane video screens, electronic billboards, and online. The New York Times on July 10 will run a crossword puzzle dedicated to the book. Fans will also receive lightning-bolt scars at midnight with their books.

Yay! This is making me even more excited about Half Blood Prince coming out! (I do not know how that is even possible...because I was really excited already...but I am even more excited now!) Now I'm gonna have to go to all the bookstores in my city to try and reserve one of those stands. Thats what I did to all the movie stores when POA came out on dvd. Now I have the display up in my room. Hopefully, I'll get another display.

I remember those from last year for the Order of the Phoenix! Everytime I see one at Barnes and Noble I got so excited. But we're only getting tattoos this year? Last year we got a pair of Harry Potter glasses! Maybe just Barnes and Noble here in Holland does that. (Holland, Michigan...)
