With just over 100 days until the July 16 release of JK Rowling's Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, U.S. publisher Scholastic is preparing a multimillion dollar marketing blitz
to stir up excitement.
At the 50 day mark on May 27, Scholastic will ship 40,000 of these countdown clock standees (334KB JPG image) to bookstores.
The base theme message "Who Is The Half-Blood Prince?" will appear on airplane video screens, electronic billboards, and online. The New York Times on July 10 will run a crossword puzzle dedicated to the book. Fans will also receive lightning-bolt scars at midnight with their books.

The "find out in 50 days" made me think that we were going to find out who the HBP was in 50 days and I a got so happy that I actually jumped up and then sat down to read it, it was disappointing finding outt that we weren't going to really find out in 50 days... Ohh well, we'll find out in some 110 days...

I'm going to be on vacation the week before it comes out, and I won't get back until the day before it comes out. I was to young to stay up for GOF and I wasn't able to keep awake for OotP, but for Half-Blood Prince, I wouldn't miss it for the WORLD!

People will buy PS, CoS, PoA, GoF, OotP..........
THank goodness that we will have cheaper books...
(In Brazil only one print...and 3~4months until gets on the shelfs here....
