Tabloid UK newspapers The Sun
and The Daily Mirror
talk about their involvement in yesterday's reported theft of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the ensuing events:
The Daily Mirror says they were "approached by a security guard who worked at a distribution warehouse. Burly Aarron Lambert, 19, demanded £30,000 for a sneak look" at the book. The Sun claimed the theif (who they name as Arun) wanted £50,000 and that a gun was fired during their clandestine meeting.
And [Lambert] was soon boasting how he had evaded massive security. "It was very hard," he said. "They've even got foreign contract workers in there so the staff don't know what it's all about. The whole warehouse is on camera - I had to be really careful. I planned it for weeks. They're doing everything they can to stop people getting hold of it. But they couldn't stop me."
With much thanks to DanRadcliffe.com
, we have scans of everything:
Police confirmed last night that Lambert and his 37-year-old accomplice (pictured in that last photo) had been arrested.
JK Rowling has obtained a court order aimed at preventing the men from divulging any content of the book before its release.

Well, There is a positive way to look at things. Because of this persons boosting, they know where they are vunerable and will fix it now and when the next book comes out. Someone could have gotten hurt with guns involved. I hope they take this court order seriously, I'm sure Jo, will talk about it with her interveiw with Katie Couric. I would love to get her perspective.

If someone tried to sell the book to me...I must tell the truth, it would be extremely hard to say no. EXTREMELY. But, if I knew it was illegal, I wouldn't. Plus, it would just ruin the excitment! I dont see why anyone would want to do that...and, its not fair to the rest of us who have to! Poor JK!

woah, its not that its weird that someone would steal a copy because there are alot of people out there who would pay good money to get to read the book early... its just the fact that he actually stole the book, I mean they keep talking about how well secured the books are and how there paying people a whole bunch of money so the book doesnt get stolen, and then a 19 year old steals a copy.. crazyness I tell yah. Kids nowa days.

Are they stupid? First of all, why would someone want a sneak peek at the book when the book comes out in a month, and if you do that you will be in jail and won't be able to read the book.

Ahh, the things people will do for money. This makes me very sad, actually. What is our world coming to? A detailed plot to steal a children's book and sell it for money...if anything like this happens again, I won't turn on my tv or come on here for the sake of wanting it to be a surprise. -shakes head-
