and The Daily Mirror talk about their involvement in yesterday's reported theft of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the ensuing events:
The Daily Mirror says they were "approached by a security guard who worked at a distribution warehouse. Burly Aarron Lambert, 19, demanded £30,000 for a sneak look" at the book. The Sun claimed the theif (who they name as Arun) wanted £50,000 and that a gun was fired during their clandestine meeting.
And [Lambert] was soon boasting how he had evaded massive security. "It was very hard," he said. "They've even got foreign contract workers in there so the staff don't know what it's all about. The whole warehouse is on camera - I had to be really careful. I planned it for weeks. They're doing everything they can to stop people getting hold of it. But they couldn't stop me."

Police confirmed last night that Lambert and his 37-year-old accomplice (pictured in that last photo) had been arrested.
JK Rowling has obtained a court order aimed at preventing the men from divulging any content of the book before its release.

Wow, that is really scarry!!! Some people are just plain stupid...I mean, we all want that book more than anything but it is so close and there is no point in being jailed for it so why do some people do what they do? They are just trying to prove a point, and try to prove that they were the first ones to get past the amazing security system guarding the potter books. This shows that they have no respect for JK Rowling and they don't care about the books, they just care about themselves!!!!!!

I have no idea what is up with these people. I mean come on, it's only a month and a half till the book comes out. And on top of that who would pay that much for a book. We all in here absolutly love the HP series, but would never go to an extreme like that.

If it was that hard too steal it, than why do it? I mean, if a reporter got it he would get MANY people against him/her if he gave oute somthing. And just telling is cruel, i mean why spoil the fun? I suppose someone would go trough it just too read it, but most of the poeple planing such thing rarly steal the for the pleasure of reading.

We got two great pieces of info from this:
1. We know that somewhere in the far reaches of this planet, there are finished copies of Half-Blood Prince lying around!
2. We know how thick the book is, we got our first real look at a complete version (not a very clear one, but...)
