In this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly
, Harry Potter director Mike Newell discusses the fact that he is nervous about showing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to movie executives in two weeks. The article also states that work has started on Order of the Phoenix and that Daniel Radcliffe will return: "My enthusiasm has absolutely not gone down."
"I'm terribly pleased with the film," says director Mike Newell (Donnie Brasco) of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth movie adapted from J.K. Rowling's series of novels, due Nov. 18. In two weeks, Newell will screen his work (minus completed special effects) for Warner Bros. brass for the first time. Nervous? "Of course!" he says. "This is a story where the kids [are] now teenagers. Is the audience ready for an older Harry Potter? They bought the book--I just hope we present a Harry Potter they want to see." Couldn't have set the stakes better ourselves.
Work has begun on the fifth film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. British TV veteran David Yates will direct, and screenwriter Michael Goldenberg follows Steven Kloves. Harry is still good to go. "My enthusiasm has absolutely not gone down," says Daniel Radcliffe, 15, who wouldn't rule out doing a non-Potter film before starting part 5 in January. "But it would be a mistake to want to show you can do stuff other than Harry Potter so badly that you just rush into something."
This week's issue with Tom Cruise on the cover hits newstands today.
Reminder: Since Warner Bros. has not yet released the cast list for Order of the Phoenix please treat this as a rumor till confirmed.

Obviously I want all of the cast to remain intact but most importantly Daniel, Emma and Rupert - they are Harry, Hermione and Ron to me (and millions of others). That's not a bad thing either. They've brought those characters to life for us all. I hope they all stick it out but I hope they continue their roles because they love portraying those characters as much as we enjoy watching them. I can't wait for OotP and I haven't even gotten to see GoF yet. *laughs* Can't get enough of HP that's for sure. I think Goldenberg will do an excellent job with OotP. I'm feeling confident the movies will only continue getting better.

I hope this is true and Dan is coming back for HP5 - All real fans of the book series know that the characters grow up throughout the books and want to see that reflected in the films. Dan, Rupert and Emma are all growing into their characters and we need all of them to stay for all seven films.
Great to hear that Dan is still enjoying being Harry as he's the one who's in pretty much every scene and it's a heavy workload for him

Dan is staying!!! He is such a good actor. He really understood the part of Harry, and it would be hard for someone els to live up to Dan's acting standerds. (did I spell that right??)
Emma and Rupert Should also stay!! Harry Potter fan's have gotten used to seeing the trio. Besides... A lot of people have decided to not see the movie if they arent in it...Witch is stupid but...what can you do???

I get Entertainment Weekly so I've read the article thing already and with great excitement. Newell doesn't have to worry; I'll love the movie no matter what, unless it is completely unfaithful to the book. I hope other people like it as well, though. Goodness. I hope I really DO like it.

Awesome news all around! I'm glad that Daniel Radcliffe is continuing and what fun to know that an initial preview is being presented the WB Big-Wigs. I'm sure that the media frenzy will only get more frenetic as the word spreads.

I'm so happy Dan's going to be Harry again in movie 5. I think he's a terrific Harry Potter and when (and if) he decides he's done filming Harry Potter movies, they won't be able to replace him. I also hope Emma and Rupert don't leave the cast either. In that case, none of them can leave! They make the movies so cool!
